For a while I've been planning on trying to rush the final performance of The Color Purple, or at least score a standing room ticket.  I don't mind waiting on the line for hours, however it is expected to be very, very cold and I was wondering if anyone might have an idea of how early people might start lining up for this? I know normally it's wise to arrive around 6 or 7 in the morning, but do you know if maybe people have started lining up later than that due to the cold, or do people just put the extra layers on and deal with it?  I wouldn't mind getting to the theatre at 5 or 6 am, but if the high temperature that day is expected to be in the low 30s, I'm not sure waiting outside for 6-7 hours is a good idea.  Any advice?  Thanks!!

Not to invade your post, but does anyone know if they will be offering rush during the final week/final performance?

I've asked multiple times and the only info I have is SRO based on availability and at the discretion of box office. Can't get a straight answer on rush, which makes me think both options will be extremely limited if offered at all.

I could maybe see them not really offering rush, but I don't see why they wouldn't at least offer standing room.  I imagine that if anyone "important" or famous wants to go to this particular performance, they've already nabbed their tickets.

Friends of cast and crew. Final performances have all sorts of folk coming out of the woodwork.

If I were to chance this, I would get there no later than 7 pm the night before. But I also wouldn't chance it without knowing for sure they were going to sell something.

Has anyone tried rushing/sro this week yet? Has anyone heard any news on there policies for the funk show? Thank you!

SRO wasn't offered yesterday for either show. But all shows look close to sold-out for the weekend. And 7pm the night before is way too early to get in line for rush for the final show. It'll be freezing out that night, so there's no need to camp out. I'd say 5am on Sunday should be the earliest someone should get there to rush the final show.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

Agreed, 7pm the night before is too early. Remember that the box office will not open until noon on Sunday. I am still considering the option...

standing room actually was offered yesterday for both shows even though the shows weren't sold out. I got to the theatre at 6:50 and was 25th in line and all regular rush seats for both the mat/eve were gone so they sold me a standing room ticket.

I rushed the show around 7:30 AM yesterday and there were close to 50 people before me. I figured I had zero chance, but I did end up getting two SRO tickets for the evening show. They were offering $59 tickets as well. But if you want to be safe, I'd suggest getting in line way before then.

I'm guessing Wednesday's shows were close to sold-out. the box office will sell them even if the show is close to being sold-out.

I rushed yesterday. I got there at 5:40am and I was 13th in line. The first person in line got there at 2am and the 2nd person in line got there at 4. Good luck to all trying. :)

SRO is only $30, and the view was pretty fantastic. You do have the mezzanine overhang, but it doesn't really obstruct anything except some of the scenery near the top. I felt close enough to see all the performers' expressions, and it felt even more intimate because the audience was so into it. You could have heard a pin drop.

The show is in great shape, by the way. Cynthia burned the place down and people were whistling and giving her standing ovations throughout the show. It was an incredible experience to be a part of.

Do you have any idea if they sell the $59 tickets ahead of time, or just the day of?

I didn't see those tickets online, so they might have only been offered to the rush line. But seeing how the remaining performances are basically sold out, I don't know if the box office is holding back any seats at this point. It might be a good idea to check directly with them.

Yes, could someone in NYC please go ask the box offfice if there will be rush and/or SRO Sunday? That'd be awesome.

I'd assume at least one of those will be offered on Sunday.

You could always call them up. You'll speak to the same box office person you would in person: (212) 239-6200

Just putting this out there since several people have shown interest in rushing. I am in the rush line for the final show. If I get in (God willing), and there is someone interested in being my plus one, message me and make an offer.

Curious how long the line is. Any indication they'll open the box office early considering how cold it is? Are they offering SRO?

There were around 10 people lined up by 2am when I passed by, I'm sure it's a mad house now.
