Really loving Jennifer’s version of Memory. Nobody will ever beat Betty Buckley, but I think Jennifer did a fantastic job. I’m glad that she held back for most of the song, before letting it rip at “touch me...”. I was afraid the whole thing would be too belted, and I was pleasantly surprised. Honestly, I’m kind of rooting for this movie to do well.

I hope we get to see “performance footage” from the Eleanor Roosevelt musical in the film, it was the one thing missing from the stage version. I was so looking forward to a production number with Beth Leavel as Eleanor.

Sweeney Todd has to be my number one. The OBC recording is probably the best recorded cast album of any show that I’ve ever heard, and the book is excellent. The only other ones I’m super familiar with are Into The Woods, Sunday in the Park With George, and Company. I’ve never seen a production of Company live and I am so excited for the revival opening in March.
In regards to the framing device, maybe the movie starts out with Usnavi telling the story from the island, and before the movie ends he goes back home after realizing its where he belongs.
Patti LuPone absolutely did not start a "trend" of performers missing matinees. The Eva alternate is something that started in London while Elaine Paige was still performing the role. Terri Klausner was hired as Patti's alternate before rehearsals even began as far as I'm aware, so it's something that was planned before the show was even cast and Patti's vocal trouble started to appear. I think her work ethic speaks for itself...when I saw her
I'm not sure how I forgot to include The Prom on my list, what an unexpected, joyful surprise that show was. I loved it.

It looks like they filmed all the singing live, just like they did for Les Mis...I honestly cannot help but be so curious about how this movie will turn out. It is highly anticipated for all the wrong reasons.
Sutton Foster occasionally shops at the grocery store where I work part time. The first time I saw her I thought to myself "wow that woman is a dead ringer for Sutton Foster", and then she smiled and I knew it was indeed her! Being the queeny fangirl I am, I approached her and said quietly so as not to draw attention to her: "Excuse me, are you Sutton Foster?", to which she smiled and replied "I am!". She could not have been sweeter! Very
Dreamgirls and Company. I cannot wait to see Company in the spring, but what's the deal with the London revival of Dreamgirls? I would love to have that show back on Broadway!
It looks like she's doing it for one or two performances only so that the show can be filmed, which I assume will lead to some kind of theatrical release? I loved the original production and I'm hoping the revival will come to Broadway at some point, but I really cannot imagine Whoopi singing the role of Deloris. I'm sure she'll be announcing something on The View today.

Patti and the interviewer both discuss how they don’t understand why Evita was telling her people not to cry/weep for her because it doesn’t make sense in the context of the show...am I only one who believes that “don’t cry for me” means “don’t call my name out/cry my name” and not “don’t shed tears for me”? I mean “don’t call out for me because I never truly left you” makes a hell of a lot more sense, no?
The revival of Once On This Island. I saw it five times, and I can't remember the last time I so badly wished I was part of a particular Broadway production. Also, I'm still waiting for the opportunity to be the first brown haired, bearded, bari-tenor male to play Evita.
