How terribly sad. "So Big, So Small" is probably going to be so damn difficult to perform when he returns.

The original company of West Side Story, specifically Chita's performances of America and Dance at the Gym. After watching Broadway: The Golden Age, I would love to see Laurette Taylor's performance in The Glass Menagerie.
What a nice read! I found the story about the troops very touching. How adorable that even though they wanted to hoot and holler during Act One, they remained quiet and respectful.
The Lion King 2019 Soundtrack Jul 11

I’m mostly disappointed with this soundtrack. I was most looking forward to Circle of Life, but they literally took the original track from the original soundtrack and added a new vocalist on the verses. I’m kind of shocked at how uninspired it is. Also, Be Prepared is two minutes long and mostly spoken word, despite Chiwitel giving what sounds like a pretty interesting vocal performance. Beyonce and Billy Eichner are the stars of this soundtrack. Donald Glover is serviceable, nothing remar

I'm sorry, I'm posting this from my phone and there isn't an option to make it clickable. I've never seen actual video footage of this moment, and I have to say it's really annoying how the newscaster is essentially narrating the entire video and drowning out much of the audio. Still a pretty interesting find!
Once On This Island's final performance Jan 8

So after looking at multiple posts on social media, I noticed that Darlesia Cearcy hasn't posted anything about the show closing, nor have I seen her in any of the cast members' photos from that entire day, including the after party...I guess her leaving the show wasn't very amicable after all, which is such a shame. Her Erzulie was my favorite.

I look forward to hearing your reports! So bummed that I didnt spring for a cheap seat to tonight's show when the closing was first announced. Here's hoping for some kind of bootleg...
So, so sad to see this gorgeous production close. I was incredibly lucky to have seen it five times, and gladly would've gone five times more. If anyone on the boards is attending the last show, post your reports here! I can only imagine how energized and emotional today's performances will be.
I might be a bit biased because it's been one of my favorite scores for about 9 years now, but the Once On This Island revival recording has been on heavy repeat for me. All the singers are so talented, and the score has been so beautifully reinvented. A friend sent me a digital copy of the album a few days before the official release, and it was a randomly very warm February day (I think it was like 60 degrees out and sunny), so I decided to go for a walk around my neighborho
The Band's Visit is having the best sale of all the shows, in my opinion...for performances January 8-March 10, EVERY orchestra seat is $65 and EVERY mezzanine seat is $35. Tickets have to be booked by December 5th...wow!!
I've seen the Hello, Dolly! revival 5 times, three times with Bette and once each with Donna and Bernadette. I've seen the Once On This Island revival 4 times (side note...does Quentin Darrington do 1 show a week? He's ALWAYS out), and I've seen Phantom and Sister Act 3 times.
As flawed as the movie is, Be Italian is, in my opinion, one of the most showstopping numbers in any movie musical. Who knew Fergie was going to wind up being the highlight of the whole movie? What a fantastic vocal.
