These look really cool. Does anyone know if I would be able to get one from one of the box offices? If so, which ones are good for asking for this sort of thing? I don't know if I will going to a show this month. I know I'm going to be there on the 16th for Idina Menzel's show at Radio City Music Hall though.

But it's confusing. The article says that only Aladdin has a Showbill. Isn't Lion King considered Disney too? How come they have a Playbill?
I usually go to the theater in spurts - coincidentally I saw three shows since the 1st so I have three rainbow Playbills already...popping up at the end of a show to collect more is a great idea.
Maybe because it's now housed in the Nederlander-owned Minskoff? I think the issue was about Disney not allowing alcohol (and thus alcohol ads) on their properties. I guess the Nederlanders don't care, despite it being a Disney show.
The programs are a contract with the theatre, not the show / producer. The New Amsterdam is leased by the city of NYC to Disney, making a Disney property and Disney is, therefore, able to contract with a provider of their choice, their contract with Showbill predated Showbill 's merger with Playbill. Lion King and Newsies both play in Nederland owned properties and the Nederlanders contract programs through Playbill.
Is that really all of them? So Cabaret, Lady Day, Rock of Ages and Violet aren't doing it? And only those off-Broadway shows? Then again, Holler if Ya Hear Me isn't on there either and I got a playbill with the rainbow there the other day. Though that started after June 1st so maybe it didn't make the list.
Cabaret definitely has rainbow Playbills, Alan Cumming tweeted this the other day.
And I’ve definitely seen someone’s picture on social media with a rainbow Violet Playbill. I guess some of the covers weren’t included in the gallery online.

I got Les Misérables on Sunday, Holler on Monday, as of Tuesday Cabaret did not have them, but do now. Usher told me to swing by with ticket stub to get one once they came in.
