I HATE when they give audiences a weeks notice of this! Especially for Tony winners, they should announce departures much earlier so people can go that havent and want to!
If you read the other thread, Steve Kazee hasn't been performing for approximately the past four weeks and it isn't certain he will even be performing this week. He has been out of the show due to vocal rest.
Is there no discount code for Once right now? The last one expired around March 10th.
EDIT: That discount code still works! I bought a center mezzanine ticket for Friday night. How's the view from the mezzanine?
I hope Steve is in for one final week! I mean he has to at LEAST be at his final show if not why wouldn't they announce now that Ben Hope takes over the role effective immediately?

I heard that for...personal reasons Kazee will not be returning. Though for the fans, I do hope he at least performs his last show. A few people I know paid full price expecting him to be there, which is not an unreasonable expectation.

If they wanted to they probably would have gone already.
When I was last in NY about a month ago, the box office person said that Kazee had extended his contract until September...so this is a change. Whatever the reason(s), I hope he's OK.
I bought a full price orchestra ticket for the performance on the 24th after finding out via Anne L. Nathan's twitter that Cristin, Elizabeth, and Will would be leaving, and now I'm hoping Steve goes on for his final show. I'd hate to go and not see him perform.

It's a contractual thing. He has to learn the show have costumes made etc... You don't just pop into a broadway show like that. It's a lot of paperwork, negotiations etc.

That IS actually unreasonable. His first priority it to his health. Not fans of his or the show. If he's on vocal rest there is no reason he should put himself, his voice and his future in harms way cause a few people wanted to see him perform again. The expectation is what's unreasonable.

except he's been the understudy since the beginning
Okay you may have just swayed me a bit. I mean there's no need to be defensive when there's nothing to be defensive about....if that makes sense. Trying to be coy here.
