Broadway bound: Tatum's producing partner Reid Carolin, who wrote the screenplay for Magic Mike, said they have big plans to send the stripper story to Broadway. "We are working on it as a Broadway show, which would be a different story," said Carolin, "more of a romp, more of a fun night out at a club with a story. I'm almost more excited about that than the movie because I think it's the perfect thing for women to go see on Broadway, to be participants in the show." Pettyfer said he would "absolutely" do the Broadway show. In fact, "I think we should all do the opening night," he said.
What a conceit! Are groups of "women" going to pay 200 dollars plus to see a glorified strip Broadway show? When all someone has to do is pay a fraction of that price to hire a stripper? They might as well admit the show would be a gay magnet. Just revive The Rtz.
"Through The Sacrifice You Made, We Can't Believe The Price You Paid..For Love!"
Do you think Pettyfer would reprise his role though? From his early film work he looks pretty huge, maybe the biggest in Hollywood right now, and the show will need some huge talent.
Pettyfer is not "huge" he's hoping this film does something for his career. He's a got a bad attitude, think the male Lea Michele and "I am Number 4" got horrible reviews and flopped.
I'm glad they think they need to reduce what I'm sure is already an EXTREMELY intelligent and sophisticated movie into a "romp" and think that what Broadway audiences are really looking for is a "night out at a club with a story."

I won't spend 10 bucks to see this in the movie theater - I certainly won't shell out 100+.
Kind of disgusting.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
