Just saw that on twitter as well... seems very sudden! I wonder if Norbs will pull an Alice Ripley and go on tour with it. Doing so would certainly help the show's prospects in that respect.

While I'm not truly suprised, it's always sad. There will be more announcements in the next few weeks.
Best of luck to all involved.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?

I can only say that this score is one of my Top 2 favorites from the season and I certainly hope this tours in my area. Looked and sounded like such a fun and entertaining show... I wish the cast and crew the best in their future endeavors.
It's amazing to me that word of mouth didn't help it more. When I saw it just after the Tonys, the audience was incredibly receptive. I wasn't totally hot on it myself (though I think it deserved to run longer than this), it seemed a big hit among the older, especially male crowd.

I was just looking at their stats since they opened. They only averaged 52% of their potential gross, and their average ticket price was just under $70.
I'm assuming their advance must have been pretty low.

I'm sure the announcement won't be far behind. Wouldn't suprise me if we have a number of closings that weekend -- we usually do.

did expect this show to last too longer, but figured it would be around until the end of the year at least.
I wonder if Elf has found it's home for this season.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
I too thought PRISCILLA would go first and CATCH ME would last until the end of the year. I wonder if SISTER ACT will benefit since they're both family shows with strong title recognition.
Norbert has a wife and young family and he certainly doesn't need to do a tour that would take him away from them for a year. I highly doubt you'll see him doing the tour.
"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe."
