I still think they should get rid of all bits of Phantom and make is a regualr story. I dont know why it couldnt be a good love story.

"Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport. General opinion's starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don't see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often it's not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it's always there - fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends. When the planes hit the Twin Towers, as far as I know none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge - they were all messages of love. If you look for it, I've got a sneaky feeling you'll find that love actually is all around."

I wonder of "Book of Mormon" is interested in taking the Adelphi Theatre.

Threads like this make me sick. Why would you rejoice at the news of a show's closing? You may not like it, but someone else may have loved it. It's theatre, the most beautiful art form in the world. In no way is this good news.

I, for one, am truly sad that Love Never Dies is closing. I do hope it makes its way across the pond. It has some of the most glorious music.

If the Melbourne production is supposed to be amazing, would they consider bring that to London?

He did originally but within 2 weeks of it opening in Australia he has given up on that moving to London.

There is some gorgeous music there. But that's about it--I dunno why some do suggest the story would work without the Phantom characters--it would be even more banal (albeit not character changing).

ALW will be well represented on Broadway this season with revivals of Evita and JCS....I dread the day when they revive Cats-one of the most boring and poorly choreographed shows in history. It did make everyone connected multi millionaires many times over though. If he decides to bring it, the cost will be astronomical- not in the Spidey league, but a lot.

I think Love Never Dies has some nice melodic moments every ten minutes... I also feel that the score tops itself out every 15.

The casts of this production did a lot of really great work (pre and post cast change). They really cared about the work, and thus worked their tails off to have some beautifully acted moments. But the material bogged them down from making the show more than just great moments, from really being elevated. I respect them tremendously, and feel for them.

How to properly use its/it's: Its is the possessive. It's is the contraction for it is...

I saw the Melbourne production on Thursday evening.
This version is visually spectacular but it is still a very flawed piece in my opinion.
I can't imagine the Melbourne production would enjoy a run on Broadway either depsite it's exquisite design and feel.
There are too many boring bits in this show with the most exciting parts being when ALW includes the music from POTO. I do feel ALW has betrayed his POTO as none of the characters really seem to be true to the way they were.
Spoiler Alert: The show is a downer and no character is any better off by the end. I think it ruins the original now if we are to believe that this is how all the characters ended up.
I could still accept this if it were not so boring.
