Figured there was a Next to Normal thread why can't there be a ITH one? I'm really curious to read people's favorite memories as it ends it's run.
My favorite would have to be last night at Kyle's last. The energy from the moment he stepped on that stage from the audience was electric. He was on fire-as was the rest of the cast. The last part of his "Finale" was really emotional.
I demand a refund for the money I spent seeing this.

It was August of 2008 and my family and I were heading over to the Fringe in Edinburgh. Coming from the Midwest we took a planned 24 hour layover in the City. Stayed at the Milford, had lunch at Sardi's, and then my 6 year old daughter and I went to the matinee of ITH. Her first broadway show. We had center orch F seats. My daughter still talks about it - and reminds me often that patience and faith are important.
So as a dad, my favorite ITH memory was creating one for her.
Don't remember the date, but getting a last minute third row seat in the first couple weeks of previews and being completely blown away. I had no idea what to expect and I was all about ITH that season. Glad to see Lin back and hope the show goes out strong.
I Remember siting there in the theatre before the showsaying boy that set is really high.
Then ten minutes into it a character said "Grandma.. don't forget to take you heart pills" and I remember saying she'll be dead by act two and sure enuf she bit the dust.
About ten minutes into it, I realized I was seeing a horrid sentimental after school special with horrid music.
I remember being so bored that I began measuring the set with my eyes...over and over again. And I was off counting. It was 58 feet.
Well, that was just rude to post in a thread that is clearly meant as a nostalgic sendoff for us fans of the show.
For me, one of my favorite shows at Heights was Robin's last performance. Very high energy, and an amazing audience. I will miss this show dearly since I am there at the Rodgers so often.
It is so awful it won the Tony and had a very respectable run.
Either a lot of people are wrong or you are. I am betting on you being wrong. I agree it is rather bad form to rip a show at its closing. Sort of like kicking someone who is on the floor already.
I was literally walking by the Rodgers theatre with two friends and we just decided to go in and see what tickets they had available on a whim. We ended up getting SRO tickets. We knew nothing about the show. While we all loved the show (and we weren't really expecting to!) the spontaneity of the day was so memorable.
Just the feeling of all of energy coming off of that stage and then getting pictures with members of the cast including Priscilla Lopez. I loved this show so much and I am greatly saddened to see it go.

ATTENTION FANS: I will be played by James Barbour in the upcoming musical, "BroadwayWorld: The Musical."
I've seen the show several times, but my favorite was Lin-Manuel's last show on Broadway. It was truly special (and sentimental) to see Lin take his final bows. The energy that night was contagious. I'm glad that Lin is coming back to close the show. He is an incredible talent, and I am so grateful that he created In The Heights. Thank you, Lin!!
