Ballet Theatre of Maryland, the state’s leading professional ballet company, has released individual tickets for sale for their 45th year in residence at Maryland Hall for the Arts. This season, BTM will celebrate its Sapphire Anniversary with The Firebird, The Nutcracker, Momentum, and The Sleeping Beauty.
Before Ballet Theatre of Maryland kicks off its performances in residence at Maryland Hall for the Arts, they will hold two special events in downtown Annapolis: Ballet in the Garden on September 16 followed by their 45th Anniversary Gala on September 24th. Both events provide unique settings for dance, giving audiences the opportunity to see the company up close and personal.
Ballet Theatre of Maryland will present its holiday classic The Nutcracker, December 10th-18th. This yearly tradition from Maryland's premier ballet company takes the stage at Maryland Hall, delighting audiences with its whimsical story, varied characters, and festive sets and costumes. To extend the holiday experience, BTM will once again offer a Sugar Plum Party before each Sunday show.
On September 18, Ballet Theatre of Maryland will open its season with Ballet in the Garden, an intimate VIP performance in the historic environment of the Hammond Harwood House. October 7-9, the company begins its mainstage performance season with Les Sylphides and Other Works at Maryland Hall.
On Thursday night, Artistic Director Nicole Kelsch shared Ballet Theatre of Maryland's new logo at a gala celebrating their 44th anniversary season. The event, held at Prism Annapolis, also featured a silent auction, a raffle, and live performances from company artists.
Capping off their 2021-2022 season, Ballet Theatre of Maryland will present the beloved classic, Coppélia, April 22-23 at Maryland Hall for the Arts. This fractured fairytale, set in an idyllic peasant village, tells the story of two lovers, an eccentric inventor, and his beautiful, mysterious daughter.
For the 2021-2022 season, Ballet Theatre of Maryland announces its return to live, in-theater performances with joy and thanks. This season features An Afternoon of Romance in September followed by the Romantic classic Giselle in October. Other mainstage works include holiday favorite The Nutcracker, a mixed repertory of works in Momentum, and the family friendly classic Coppélia.
