Red Branch Theatre Co. Launches New Summer Cabaret Series Tonight

Red Branch Theatre Company will hold its first series of one-night only cabaret performances this summer at Drama Learning Center in Columbia, MD. Each cabaret will consist of a solo or group headliner that regales audiences with a themed evening of songs and stories in a cabaret setting. Food and beverage will be available for sale before the show each night and during intermission. A cash bar will also be available for select performances.
Devron T. Young Opens Red Branch Summer Cabaret Series Tonight

Devron T. Young will open the summer cabaret series on July 13th with his musical evening entitled 'One Night Only.' The cabaret loosely chronicles pivotal moments in the performer's life through song and spoken word. Red Branch Managing Director Tiffany Underwood Holmes will accompany Mr. Young on the keyboard, and surprise special guests will join him on stage for select numbers. The program includes, but is not limited to songs such as 'Maybe' from Annie, 'God Bless the Child,' 'Memories of You' by Eubie Blake, 'Family' and 'One Night Only' from Dreamgirls, and many more.

Enjoy the world of Dr. Seuss as The Cat in the Hat tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust containing Whos, including JoJo, a Who child who gets in trouble for thinking too many 'thinks.' 'Seussical, Jr.,' a whimsical musical comedy will be performed by Cockpit's Court Jesters Young People's Theatre during today, July 12-21. Performances will be held in the Administration Building (formerly the J Bldg.) Lecture Hall at CCBC Essex, 7201 Rossville Boulevard, Rosedale. McDaniel College Theatre Arts students perform in George Bernard Shaw's "Pygmalion," directed by Elizabeth van den Berg, chair of the Theatre Arts department at McDaniel. Based on classical myth, this legendary comedy of manners tells the story of wily Cockney flower girl Eliza Doolittle and her transformation into a "proper lady" at the hands of snobbish speech professor Henry Higgins. "Pygmalion" was the basis of the acclaimed stage and movie musical "My Fair Lady."

Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET) is proud to present the first installment of the live comedy variety show The Annual Live. Join The Annual Live as co-host Karli Cole decides it's time to call it quits, move to Italy and take up with the Vatican, leaving her brother and remaining co-host Kevin Cole and the rest of The Annual staff to give her a fitting send off. Meanwhile the fate of The Annual Live hangs in balance as studio execs debate how well the show will hold its own without her. It's a final farewell that brings forth the cross between The Larry Sanders Show and Sonny and Cher that no one asked for! So look forward to sketches, musical performances, and a special appearance from the Laugh Station crew!

On July 19, 2013 the Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET) will host, ART PARTY MET, an evening of art, music, and theatre that celebrates the community of creativity and art in Frederick. Corks will be popping as Phoenix Rising unveils a new mural for the MET lobby, a lobby that will also be adorned with the work of over a dozen of local artists, and then following a performance of the show I (Am) Not My Mother, three local bands will play the party into the wee hours. 'The party is a collaborative effort that embodies the eclectic artistic offerings the MET brings to the community', said MET Artistic Director, Tad Janes.
