Spotlighters Theatre Holds Auditions For THINK TWICE 3/22

By: Mar. 12, 2010

Spotlighters is holding AUDITIONS for THINK TWICE - an evening of two one-act one-person plays.
Monday, March 22 at 7pm. Directed by Bob Russell, Copies of both scripts will be available from 7 - 7:30 for review by auditioners.

Think Twice, an evening of two one-act, one-person plays invites auditioners to come to Spotlighters Theatre (817 St. Paul Street, Baltimore, MD 21202)
on Monday evening March 22 at 7 pm.

Performances will run from June 4 through June 27, 2010 with twelve Friday, Saturday (8 pm) and Sunday (2 pm) performances (a special Thursday performance will be held on June 24).

The two solo-performance, one-act plays, broadly called Think Twice, will encompass an evening of solid, but entertaining and thought-provoking theatre and include SAPIENS! by Rich Espey, a well-known, well-respected and award-winning Baltimore playwright and Lecture with Cello by Robert Moulthrop, an award-winning playwright from NYC whose plays were featured in New York's Fringe Festival.

A satisfying evening of theatre that will have you thinking twice - always better than a plain old single thought - about what you believe and what is real and what is illusion.

SAPIENS! is about the dichotomy, rifts and potential reconciliation of teaching evolution and/or creative design. The actor must be able to bring energy and enthusiasm to the stage as well as the ability to portray 15 characters in this 45-minute drama.

Lecture with Cello concerns itself with the cello, music, murder and guts. It's a tantalizing puzzle of a play, a 60-minute drama with absurdist echoes. A skewed version of music history is the platform for an exploration of madness, violence and art.

Please come to auditions anytime from 7 - 9 pm, ready to read cold from the script, beginning at 7:30 pm. Copies of both scripts will be available from 7 - 7:30 for review by auditioners.
