When a musical is titled 'Bulldozer,' listeners might expect its score to contain a blaze of sound, a rush of electric guitars, and a furious pounding of drums. The original cast recording of the Off-Broadway musical Bulldozer: The Ballad of Robert Moses, however, reveals its score to be a fairly tame collection of pop-rock songs.

MCC Theater's production of the New York premiere of Alice By Heart, the new musical from Spring Awakening creators Duncan Sheik and Steven Sater, begins previews on January 30th. The show is directed and co-written by Jessie Nelson, who penned the book for Waitress and will be the first show in the Newman Mills Theater, which is part of the new Robert W. Wilson MCC Theater Space. Alice by Heart stars Molly Gordon as Alice Spencer, a teenager forced to take shelter in an underground tube station during the London Blitz of World War II.

The critically-acclaimed Off-Broadway musical comedy The Other Josh Cohen celebrated its 100th performance on Wednesday. The show is playing The Westside Theatre and recently extended its run, which was originally a nine-week limited engagement, until April 29. 

A DREAM IS A WISH! is the first installment of the new cabaret series entitled: CELEBRATE? DON'T MIND IF I DO! being produced by Dragonfly Studio & Productions located in Downtown Ocoee, FL. Festival Ballet Providence (FBP) is thrilled to present an evening of three striking contemporary ballets at The VETS, February 15-17, 2019. On Sunday March 10 at 7:30 pm, chef, writer and Netflix star Samin Nosrat makes her first public appearance in Seattle at Benaroya Hall. Seattle Times food writer Bethany Jean Clement joins her on stage to learn how Samin uses the simple, universal philosophy of Salt, Fat, Acid and Heat.

The Tony nominee Christine Andreas has released an album unlike anything else this year. Piaf - No Regrets celebrates the songs made famous by the French singer Edith Piaf, including 'Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien,' 'Hymne a L'Amour," "L'Accordeoniste,' and 'La Vie En Rose.' Piaf - No Regrets started as a one woman show performed by Andreas at Feinstein's/54 Below and other cabaret venues, intended to celebrate Piaf's life and her musical triumphs. The classic 'La Vie En Rose' had been a stable song at Andreas' other cabaret shows and performances for many years.

Former costars Rob McClure and Maggie Lakis are now coparents! The couple announced the birth of their first child, Sadie James McClure, born on Sunday December 9th at 9:16 AM. McClure and Lakis met in 2005 while performing as Doody and Frenchy in a regional production of Grease. After marrying in 2009, they went on to perform together in the National Tour of Something Rotten! as Nick Bottom and Bea in 2017.

At last night's opening of The New Group's musical adaption of Clueless, Dove Cameron gushed about her next project- starring at Clara Johnson in the London premiere of Adam Guettel's The Light in the Piazza.

On December 4, The New York City Children's Holiday Party brought nearly 800 children from 38 different homeless shelters to experience the epic musical King Kong. After the performance, each child received gifts and a backpack with educational supplies and departed the show with a merry send-off from Santa Claus.

Of the many traditions and events that occur during Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids' twice yearly collection periods, one of the sweetest and subtlest is the annual Carols For a Cure compilation album. The recent release marks the twentieth anniversary of the tradition, where the casts of a variety of currently running Broadway shows record a special holiday song to be included on the album. This years album the album includes ten bonus tracks of songs from previous Carols For a Cure albums as well as eighteen new songs from current Broadway casts. As with every Broadway Cares/Equity Fight Aids fundraiser, all proceeds from the sales of the album goes to the organization's charitable endeavors.

Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, who are best known for their songwriting work on Dear Evan Hansen, The Greatest Showman, and La La Land, will appear at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa, California on January 7th.

On Monday night, Academy Award nominated actor Hugh Jackman received the Kirk Douglas Award for Excellence in Film from the Santa Barbara International Film Festival at the Ritz Carlton Bacara in Santa Barbara, CA. Jackman was honored for his illustrious career in film and his recent work in The Front Runner. On hand to celebrate this momentous occasion were cast mate J.K. Simmons, Director Jason Reitman, and longtime friend Ben Mendelsohn.
