The 2012 Tony Award Winner for Best Revival of a Musical, The Gershwins' PORGY AND BESS becomes the longest-running production of Porgy and Bess to ever play on Broadway with its 306th performance today, September 11, 2012, breaking the record formerly held by the 1953 revival at the Ziegfeld Theatre. The show will conclude its limited engagement at the Richard Rodgers Theatre (226 West 46th Street) on Sunday, September 23, 2012.

The Philadelphia Dance Company, affectionately known around the world as PHILADANCO returns to the Joyce Theater October 2-7, 2012, for its annual New York season with an exciting program of works that reflect both the versatility of the dancers and the company's longstanding commitment to working with choreographers in various stages of their careers. The New York 2012 season includes: the World premiere of "Moan" choreographed by Matthew Rushing; the New York premiere of Rennie Harris' "Wake Up"; Ronald K. Brown's "Gatekeepers" and the restaging of George Faison's iconic work "Suite Otis."

Minnesota resident Jill Bernard is a treasure in the world of improv. She is a noted performer, instructor and author. Recently, her company, HUGE Improv Theater in Minneapolis held a fundraiser and one auction prize was a chance to perform with Bernard. The winner was DSI Comedy Theater Company Member Kit Fitzsimmons. This hilarious show will run Saturday, September 22 at 9 p.m. All shows take place at DSI Comedy Theater, 200 N. Continuing their "Celebration of Off-Broadway,' The York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director), will present a staged concert production - similar in style to their acclaimed Musicals in Mufti Series - of the 1966 musical Man with a Load of Mischief, with music by John Clifton, lyrics by Clifton and Ben Tarver, and book by Tarver. Directed by Jenn Thompson with music direction by Bryan Wade, Man with a Load of Mischief will play three performances only, Monday, October 1 at 3:00 p.m. & 7:30 p.m. and Tuesday, October 2 at 3:00 p.m. at The York Theatre at Saint Peter's. Casting will be announced shortly.

Luna Stage Theatre Company, currently celebrating its 20th season, has announced that Dara Falco has joined the company as Interim Managing Director. Ms. Falco has been a leader in the Arts and Academic community for over 20 years. She served as the Executive Director of Newark School of the Arts for two years, and has held positions at such varied venues/companies as ArtsRock, Riverspace Arts in Nyack, Columbia University, and The John Harms Center for the Performing Arts in Englewood, NJ. She has managed numerous Off-Broadway companies and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the State University of New York at Purchase.

Seattle Opera continues its 2012/13 season next month with Beethoven's only opera: Fidelio, the story of a devoted wife who rescues her husband, unjustly imprisoned for his political beliefs. Premiered in 1814, Fidelio's message of love and hope overcoming tyranny and oppression remains as relevant today as ever. Seattle Opera's production of Fidelio, set here and now, opens on Saturday, October 13, and runs for six performances through October 27.

German company Theater der Nacht is crossing the Atlantic to present The Amazing Night Time Adventure of Little Häwelmann at Imagination Stage as part of the My First Imagination Stage season. This production is presented in part with the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany.

On September 15th, Ailey II will embark on a 31-city world tour with 21 domestic stops includingKansas City, MO; Fayetteville, NC; Boulder, CO and Columbus, OH.
