MARVELL REP, which received a Drama Desk Award nomination as Best Revival for its production of THE THREEPENNY OPERA earlier this season, announced casting today for Sholem Asch's GOD OF VENGEANCE (October 2-28) and Frank Wedekind's play SPRING'S AWAKENING (October 8-November 4) presented in rotating repertory at TBG Theatre, 312 West 36th Street. Both plays will be directed by Marvell Rep's Artistic Director Lenny Leibowitz.

The first-ever UK tour of Disney's landmark musical THE LION KING received its official premiere at the Bristol Hippodrome on Thursday 6th September. Director and designer Julie Taymor and other members of the show's creative team were in attendance, including the President of Disney Theatrical Group and Producer of THE LION KING, Thomas Schumacher.

The musical version of Manual Puig's 1976 novel first saw life in 1990. Despite having been begotten by theater royalty, Kiss of the Spider Woman got off to a rocky start before becoming one of the big musical hits of the '90s. Four-time Tony Award winner Terrence McNally adapted the book. John Kander and Fred Ebb (Cabaret, Chicago, Master Class) wrote the music. The producer was Harold Prince (Phantom of the Opera, Evita, Sweeny Todd), who has won more Tony Awards than anyone in the history of mankind (that would be 21).

Warner Bros. Records recording artist Eric Hutchinson will kick off 'The Almost Solo Tour' on October 15th at San Francisco's Great American Music Hall. The series of special acoustic evenings will take place at intimate venues across the U.S., with audiences seated up close to Eric and his longtime band member, multi-instrumentalist Elliott Blaufuss. Gotham Chamber Opera announces its 2012-2013 season of three productions, featuring two site-specific works. The season begins with GOTHAM @ LPR: ORIENTALE on October 1 and 3, 2012 at (Le) Poisson Rouge and continues with the New York Premiere of Francesco Cavalli's ELIOGABALO(1667) from March 15-29, 2013 at The Box, staged by James Marvel.
