During the week of Sept. 16, 2019, “Live with Kelly and Ryan” posted gains over the prior week in both Households (+5% - 2.0 rating vs. 1.9 rating) and Total Viewers (+5% - 2.652 million vs. 2.535 million), while holding steady in Women 25-54 (0.9 rating). ABC News' “World News Tonight with David Muir” opened the 2019-2020 season with the largest premiere week Total Viewer victory in 24 years (7.961 million) – since the 1995-1996 season – for the week of Sept. 23, 2019, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. The ABC evening newscast led “NBC Nightly News” (7.279 million) by 682,000 to win premiere week for the 4th consecutive year – since the 2016-2017 season.  

For September 2019, “20/20” outdelivered NBC's “Dateline” in Total Viewers (+3% - 4.0 million vs. 3.9 million), beating the NBC newsmagazine during the month of September for the first time in 7 years – since September 2012. In addition, “20/20” was up over September 2018 by 5% in Total Viewers (4.0 million vs. 3.8 million), posting its most-watched September in 3 years – since September 2016.

Laila Ali, a four-time undefeated world champion boxer, lifestyle expert, cooking enthusiast, two-time author and mom of two, has joined the team of special guest stars appearing in HGTV's epic reboot of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. Today, PBS KIDS announced a new animated series, HERO ELEMENTARY, set to premiere in the summer of 2020.  HERO ELEMENTARY is a school for budding superheroes, where kids learn to master their innate powers, like flying and teleportation, while exploring science along the way. HERO ELEMENTARY aims to give children ages 4 to 7 the tools to solve problems by thinking and acting like scientists and igniting their natural curiosity and empathy. This new multiplatform series, co-produced by Twin Cities PBS and Portfolio Entertainment, will debut nationwide on PBS stations, the PBS KIDS 24/7 channel, and PBS KIDS digital platforms.
