Today, in a deal with Sony Pictures Television (SPT), Hulu has announced that it has acquired the rights to fan favorite comedy Designing Women set to stream on Hulu August 26...Women's Equality Day!

Bryce Vine has released his major label debutCarnival, available now on Sire Records. Carnival features current single “La La Land (feat. YG)” and the Platinum-certified hit “Drew Barrymore,” as well as six brand new songs. To celebrate release week, Vine is hitting the road for a string of headline dates, kicking off tomorrow, July 27, at The Fonda in Los Angeles and includes a stop at Webster Hall in New York on August 3.

 The adorable Hatchlings of Sony Pictures Animation's and Rovio's The Angry Birds Movie 2 are being voiced by Brooklynn Prince (The Florida Project), JoJo Siwa, Genesis Tennon, Alma Varsano, Faith Urban and Sunday Urban, Sony Pictures announced today. The Hatchlings are the baby birds that have stolen everyone's hearts and have no intention of giving them back, and can be seen in action in a sneak peek clip from the film launching today. 

Winnipeg duo, The Bros. Landreth, aka Joey & Dave Landreth, have announced their sophomore album, '87, will be arriving September 27 via Birthday Cake/The Orchard, releasing first single,“Got To Be You”, today.  The brothers will preview the record at this year's Bear Creek Folk Festival in AlbertaAugust 17 + Americana Music Festival in Nashville, September 14, before heading out on tour in North America, the UK & Europe this fall (all dates below).

Following on the heels of the ambient, Kid A influenced, track “Bluebird”, Dave Monks is sharing the jangly emotional indie-rock “Don't Go Falling To Pieces” and announcing his debut solo record, On A Wave, coming on Dine Alone Records October 18th. “Don't Go Falling To Pieces” sees Monks finding his footing after the events surrounding after the near dissolution of Tokyo Police Club, which lead to their semi-self titled 2018 record TPC. Whereas in 2018 TPC saw Monks and his bandmates working together to rediscover their love for the band On A Wave is a personal, raw, record with Monks threading these disparate songs he wrote while in a state of dislocation into a cohesive, beautifully arranged and cathartic album that cuts through the chaos of modernity. Following his move back home to Toronto from Brooklyn these songs came together as an exercise in rediscovering those creative impulses that run through his previous works. As Monks sings on “You've known the way all along” one can decide to believe this as a truth, an affirmation, or a consolation that things will, or are, getting better.

Netflix has signed Brutus Pink, the newly formed animation production company from Nick Kroll, Andrew Goldberg, Mark Levin and Jennifer Flackett -- the creative team behind adult animated series Big Mouth -- to a multi-year deal to produce animated series and films for its members worldwide. The four creators are set to receive an award for comedy writers of the year at Just For Laughs this coming weekend.  The annual festival held in Montreal is the largest international comedy festival in the world.  

Disney's live-action Aladdin has become the 3rd Disney film of 2019 to pass the $1 billion mark at the worldwide box office, according to Deadline.

Today, during the Television Critics Association's Summer Press Tour at The Beverly Hilton, Hulu's Senior Vice President of Originals, Craig Erwich, presented the company's lineup of upcoming original programming including Wu-Tang: An American Saga from Brian Grazer and The RZA, Dollface starring Kat Dennings, Looking for Alaska, based on the best-selling novel by John Green and produced by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, Reprisal from Warren Littlefield and starring Abigail Spencer and Mindy Kaling's reimagining of Four Weddings and a Funeral, all of which join the company's collection of premium original content.

Looking for Alaska, the limited series based on the best-selling John Green novel of the same name, will debut all eight episodes on Friday, October 18. The series centers around teenager Miles “Pudge” Halter (Charlie Plummer), as he enrolls in boarding school to try to gain a deeper perspective on life. He falls in love with Alaska Young (Kristine Froseth), and finds a group of loyal friends. But after an unexpected tragedy, Miles and his close friends attempt to make sense of what they've been through.

Hulu's 11-time Emmy®-winning drama series The Handmaid's Tale has been picked up for a fourth season. The Handmaid's Tale is executive produced by Bruce Miller, Warren Littlefield, Elisabeth Moss, Daniel Wilson, Fran Sears, Ilene Chaiken, Eric Tuchman, John Weber, Sheila Hockin and Frank Siracusa. The series is produced by MGM Television. 

Two-time Academy Award® and Golden Globe® Award-winner Mahershala Ali has been cast as a special guest star in the Hulu Original comedy series Ramy. Ali, who is a huge fan of the series, will join creator Ramy Youssef in the second season, which is slated to premiere in 2020.

Big Hit Entertainment and Trafalgar Releasing today released the first new clip from the highly-anticipated worldwide release of BRING THE SOUL: THE MOVIE, the latest film from global K-Pop superstars BTS.  The film captures the band at the end of their LOVE YOURSELF tour in Europe, with today's clip giving fans a glimpse into the group's most intimate and intense moments just before hitting the stage.  BRING THE SOUL: THE MOVIE comes to theaters around the world for a limited release beginning August 7, with the majority of screenings occurring through August 11.  Additional screening dates available in select locations.

The heatwave will hit the airwaves when Pop TV, now fully owned by CBS Corporation, gives viewers the perfect excuse to stay inside this weekend when it airs a marathon of CBS' reality romance LOVE ISLAND on Saturday, July 27 from 9:00 AM ET/PT until midnight. The 14-hour binge will include every episode of the series, from the premiere through the previous night's broadcast. New one-hour episodes continue every weeknight through Wednesday, August 7 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on CBS.

Today, Lizzo released the highly anticipated video for “Tempo” featuring Missy Elliott. The video, directed by Andy Hines saw its premiere earlier this morning via an MTV Broadcast as well as a YouTube premiere. “Tempo” is of course highlighted on Lizzo's critically acclaimed debut album CUZ I LOVE YOU, which has been featured on several “Best Of” lists as of late, including Time, Rolling Stone, Vanity Fair, Variety and Entertainment Weekly to name a few.
