Joe Sarafolean

Joe Sarafolean is a Twin Cities native who became captivated with the arts from a young age. His true devotion to theatre began when he was cast in Annie in the 5th grade and since then, it has grown into a full blown obsession.

A graduate of Winona State University majoring in Communication Studies with a minor in theatre. Joe now works in executive communications and is always sure to carve out time to enjoy the arts.

When he is not attending various productions around the Twin Cities, he can be seen driving around town belting show tunes, enjoying a libation at a variety of local breweries and distilleries or enjoying a quiet night at home with his husband and his pup.

As we brought stories back to the stage this year we focused on familiar stories with themes of togetherness, change and growth that also had a twist of something new. The story of the March girls is special and familiar to many and soars in this musical version. It gave us a chance to give folks the chance to come back to Artistry and hear the beautiful melodies or our orchestra in one of the most treasured stories of our time.

Little Women written by Louisa May Alcott, is perhaps known as one of the most formative literary works when it comes to young women. So, it may come as no surprise that it has been adapted countless times for the screen and stage, perhaps most notably the 2019 film directed by Greta Gerwig and the 2005 musical starring Sutton Foster in the star turning role of Jo March.
