Recently, during the curtain speech of Damn Yankees at the Alhambra Theatre & Dining, managing partner Craig Smith previewed the theatre’s next production: Morning After Grace. He warned audiences it would be something a little different from the usual Alhambra fare. In his playbill note, Smith elaborates: “Most of the productions you see here are lighthearted, filled with big musical numbers, singing and dancing. This show is a little different.”

For Adam Fields, returning to Jacksonville with the national tour of Beetlejuice the Musical isn’t just another stop, it’s a full-circle moment. The production will play in Jacksonville from May 12–17 at the Jacksonville Center for the Performing Arts.

“A Beautiful Noise- The Neil Diamond Musical” celebrates the life and music of Neil Diamond. The show comes with built-in anticipation and from the moment the music begins, it’s clear the audience is ready to take the ride.

From the moment the house opens for Players by the Sea’s production of “Every Brilliant Thing”, it is obvious that this is not going to be your typical night at the theatre. The show has no intermission, no concessions inside the theatre and no “fourth wall” separating the audience from the actor.

I had a chance to chat with Rainere Martin as she prepares for her show at the Florida Theatre on March 27, 2026. For Rainere it hasn’t been a lifetime of “preparing,” but rather one of using the gift she was blessed with. As she puts it, “Even though you're coming to see a Donna tribute, you're learning who Rainere Martin is in the midst of it.”

Players by the Sea Theatre will open 'Every Brilliant Thing' this Friday. March 13. This will be an intimate, immersive production where the audience will sit on the stage, surrounding the actor.

I had the opportunity to catch up with Michal Kolaczkowski from the North American tour of Moulin Rouge! The Musical. Kolaczkowski serves as a vacation swing, flying in from New York to cover multiple ensemble tracks when company members are on vacation or out with injury. Currently on an extended run with the tour through April 6, he’ll also be joining the company for its Florida stops.

What did our critic think of MRS. DOUBTFIRE- THE NEW MUSICAL COMEDY at Jacksonville Center For The Performing Arts?

Players by the Sea opened their 61st Season with Dear Evan Hansen on January 30th, 2026. Performances will continue through Feb. 15, 2026. Licensing rights for Dear Evan Hansen were officially released on Dec. 8, 2025, making Players by the Sea one of the first community theatres to produce the show.

As you enter the theatre for “Blue Man Group” you’re met with pre-show announcements scrolling across an LED screen. My favorite show rules were “please refrain from being electronically annoying” and “no sexting”! Before the show began you could see the front row start to slip into blue ponchos.

Florida Theatre hosted “MANIA: The ABBA Tribute” on January 13, 2026, a show where you can dance, you can jive, and truly have the time of your life!
