The Guild of Music Supervisors held its landmark 10th annual award ceremony this evening at The Wiltern in Los Angeles celebrating outstanding achievement in the craft of Music Supervision in movies, television, games, advertising, and trailers. Over 1,000 attendees joined the Guild to honor the 31 crafts makers, who were recognized for their stellar musical accomplishments in 2019. Industry music legends Burt Bacharach and Bob Hunka crowned the evening as Bacharach received this year's Icon Award, and Hunka received the prestigious Legacy Award. The Mexican brother-sister duo Sotomayor are back with their second single from upcoming album 'Orígenes' (February 14, 2020). 'Menéate pa' mí' sees the group heat things up a notch from their last single ('Quema') with Paulina Sotomayor's vocals somewhere in between rapping and singing over brother Raul's uptempo beat of horn samples and a driving kick drum. Additional production work from Eduardo Cabra (aka Visitante of Calle 13 fame) solidifies the record in the Latin-meets-electronic style the group is known for. 'Lost & Found' features the vocal talents of Sally Green over a slappin' bassline, guitar licks and airy synths while 'Cruise Control' goes on an instrumental ride with its heavy drums, catchy g-funk lead and growling bass. Another funky affair from the Pittsburgh producer.
