The play explores Hitler’s tempestuous love affair with his half-sister’s daughter, the powerful and universally tragic, Geli. As Hitler’s official photographer, Heinrich Hoffmann said, “Where Eva Braun was operetta, Geli was opera!” Hitler was madly in love with her and planned to marry her in 1931 , 2 years before he became dictator of Germany, WHILE HE WAS STILL RELATIVELY HARMLESS . Norman Mailer was another author eager to tell Geli’s story, and was about to write a novel about the affair, as the second part of his planned trilogy on Hitler, but died before commencing it. Enzo, the author of six plays, was quickly drawn to the story of Hitler’s devoutly Catholic niece, who apparently committed suicide with Hitler’s own gun in 1931. As some have claimed, Geli was starting to humanize the future dictator and had she lived and married Hitler, the course of world history could have been different. '
