Monster Murder in Midtown: An Improvised Murder Mystery on Halloween Night

On Monday, October 31st at 8pm at Dad's Garage Theatre, famous Scotland Yard detective and star of Murder, She Improvised, Sir John Holmes (aka Z. Gillispie) returns in: Monster Murder in Midtown! The Wolfman is hosting one of his famous parties in his swanky Midtown loft when his guests mysteriously start dropping left and right. It's up to Sir John Holmes and YOU to figure out who-dunnit in this improvised murder mystery.

Each year, costumes adorn Atlanta Symphony Hall as musicians and audience members wear their Halloween best to what has become one of the most popular family concerts of the season. Staff Conductor Jere Flint will lead the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra in 'A Storybook Halloween' on Sunday, October 30, 2011, at 1:30 and 3:30 p.m. in Atlanta Symphony Hall at the Woodruff Arts Center.

Robert Spano to Lead the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra in NYX, 10/ 27 & 29 & 11/5

Music Director Robert Spano will lead the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra in the U.S. premiere of Esa- Pekka Salonen's Nyx October 27 and 29, 2011, at 8:00 p.m. in Atlanta Symphony Hall at the Woodruff Arts Center. The program will also include Scriabin's Poem of Ecstasy and Rachmaninov's The Bells. Soprano Tatiana Monogarova, tenor Sergey Romanovsky, bass Denis Sedov, and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chorus will join the Orchestra for The Bells. Ms. Monogarova and Mr. Romanovsky will make their Atlanta Symphony debuts with these performances.

Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Releases Third Recording on ASO Media

Today, Tuesday, October 25, 2011, the Grammy® Award-winning Atlanta Symphony Orchestra released its third recording on its record label, ASO Media, for physical distribution. Distributed by Naxos of America, this all-Rachmaninov release features Music Director Robert Spano leading the Orchestra in Piano Concerto No. 3 with Garrick Ohlsson, a frequent guest and friend of the Orchestra - this release marks Mr. Ohlsson's first-ever recording of the concerto. Also on the recording is Symphonic Dances, a signature Robert Spano/Atlanta Symphony collaboration, as Mr. Spano has led the work on tour, as well as repeatedly in Atlanta with the Orchestra.

Guest Conductor Oliver Knussen will return to Atlanta Symphony Hall to lead Concertmaster David Coucheron, Principal Cello Christopher Rex, and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra in Brahms?fs Double Concerto in A minor on November 10 and 12 at 8:00 p.m., and November 13, 2011, at 3:00 p.m. in Atlanta Symphony Hall at the Woodruff Arts Center. Mr. Knussen will also lead the Orchestra in the Atlanta Symphony premiere of his own composition, Symphony in One Movement. The concert will also include the Atlanta Symphony premiere of the Overture to Britten?fs The Building of the House and The Young Person?fs Guide to the Orchestra.
