As BWW reportedy yesterday, Phylicia Rashad finally broke her silence on the sexual abuse allegations against her COSBY SHOW co-star Bill Cosby in an interview with Showbiz 411. (read the article here) Rashad, who portrayed Cosby's fictional wife Clair Huxtable on the long-running NBC comedy, stood up for her co-star, advising him to "forget these women."

Following the publication of the interview, Rashad's comments, in particular her use of the words "forget these women," hit a nerve with those who interpreted the remarks as being uncaring and dismissive of the women in question.

On Wednesday, Rashad appeared on ABC News and claimed that she was misquoted by Showbiz 411. Regarding her comment to "forget these women" comment, Rashad said, "That was a misquote. That is not what I said. What I said is this was not about the women. It's about something else. It's about the obliteration of legacy." She continued, "I am a woman. I would never say such a thing."

As for the accusations against Cosby, Rashad told ABC News that "I can't even speak to those things, and don't want to." Watch the interview in full below.
