MusicaNova Orchestra Announces Outreach Visit To Tempe High School MusicaNova Orchestra (MNO) announces their first educational outreach visit of the season to Tempe High School (THS) on Friday, October 26 from 12:19 PM to 1:11 PM in the THS Auditorium at 1730 South Mill Avenue, Tempe AZ 85281.

MNO is artist-in-residence at THS for the third consecutive season, presenting outreach visits to the general student body as well as hands-on training workshops and collaborative concerts with student-musicians.

The program features demonstration of a variety of styles of violin music, including:
Rina Kubota (Corona del Sol HS): Paganini and Prokofiev - Traditional Classical Violin
Linda Lambie: "Fiddling"
Allen Ames: Electric and Jazz Violin
The THS Mariachi Ensemble: Mariachi Style

Students in the audience will be able to ask questions of the presenters. The program is moderated by Jill Osborne (THS Orchestra Director) and Warren Cohen (MNO Music Director).

Visitors from off-campus are welcome and admitted free, and should arrive by 12:00 PM to check in at the THS office.

MusicaNova is a professional symphony orchestra founded in the Valley in 2003. MNO also presents its Young Artists Concert and free Community Concert Series at venues in Phoenix and Scottsdale, conducts extensive educational outreach with Valley schools, and sponsors the unique MNO Composition Fellows Program for hands-on mentoring of emerging composers.
