Back by popular demand, Historic Richmond Town presents UNCORKED!, New York City's 2nd Annual Wine, Food & Fun Fest. Sponsored by Time Warner Cable and the Staten Island Advance, this year's UNCORKED! will take place on Saturday, May 22nd, from 11 AM to 6 PM (rain or shine) right here in Historic Richmond Town, New York City's only living history village. "We've been overwhelmed by the positive response UNCORKED! has received from the community," said John Gustafsson, the President of the Board of Directors of Historic Richmond Town. "We look forward to meeting the demands and exceeding the expectations of the Staten Island public and beyond, and we never, ever underestimate the power of wine and cheese!"

"UNCORKED! was a smash hit in 2009," reports Ed Wiseman, Historic Richmond Town's Executive Director. "It was the event Staten Island had been waiting for...a spring day strolling our beautiful grounds, soaking in the sun and fun, sipping wine and sampling incredible food." Foodies from all over the region are invited to frolic through New York City's most bucolic backyard, a place where fine wine meets good, locally produced/crafted food.

Top local chefs will greet UNCORKED! guests, glass of wine in hand. Watch skilled demonstrations by the borough's top food people. Meet soon-to-be discovered culinary professionals creating artisan edibles in New York City's incubator kitchens. Guests may also participate in the winemaking process with an on-site crush demonstration.

"If you're interested in knowing more about food, where it comes from, and the science behind kitchen work, UNCORKED! is the place to be," says Pamela Silvestri, Advance Food Editor and restaurant critic. She adds, "Consider the event to be a food summit --- a sprawling, upscale, outdoor cocktail party. Bring a glass, maybe a picnic blanket, and prime your palate for some amazing flavor experiences."

"Cheese School" is available once again. This year, chef/borough farmer David Cavagnaro will broaden the class. There will be Cheese School 101 for those just venturing into the incredible world of wine/cheese pairing. For UNCORKED! veterans of last year's Cheese School, there is Cheese School 201, a course that matches New York State cheeses with regional wines, one champagne, and a dessert beer made in Brooklyn.

New York Times photographer Andrew Scrivani will show you how to eat with your eyes as you go behind the scenes to uncover the tricks the pros use to make food look delicious.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE A GOURMET TO HAVE A GOOD TIME

Professional cooks and amateur eaters will stroll side-by-side through the historic village as they taste what Staten Island's top restaurants have to offer. There will be decadent desserts just fit to be tried, including some gluten-free goodies.

In addition to the excellent edibles and delectable drinks, there will also be cookie decorating, sugar art, and fun games for our young gourmands to enjoy while mom and dad are satisfying their appetites with all the yummy samples that surround them.

Admission to UNCORKED! on the day of the event will be $27 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under. Adults who pre-pay their reservations by Friday, May 21st, will receive a discounted admission of $22. Pre-paid reservations can be made by calling 718.351.1611, ext. 270 or ext. 236.

Sponsors for this year's UNCORKED! include Time Warner Cable and the Staten Island Advance.
