Today, June 12, 2026, Broadway says goodbye to Dog Day Afternoon, which closes at the August Wilson Theatre, following 21 previews and 120 regular performances. The venue will soon be home to Paranormal Activity, which begins previews on August 14.

Starring Emmy Award Winners Jon Bernthal and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, the new play is written by Pulitzer Prize winner Stephen Adly Guirgis and directed by two-time Olivier Award winner Rupert Goold. It was nominated for three Tony Awards including Best Scenic Design of a Play (David Korins), Best Costume Design of a Play (Brenda Abbandandolo), and Best Lighting Design of a Play (Isabella Byrd).
