Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity has outlined a full winter season of performances, exhibitions, and public programs, following the record-breaking 2025 Banff Centre Mountain Film and Book Festival.

The schedule brings a range of artists and companies to the Banff campus, including music, contemporary circus, comedy, Indigenous fashion, gallery programming, and new-music concerts. Events begin this week with the appearance of Aysanabee and continue through January and February 2026, offering visitors and residents a series of evening presentations during the peak winter season.

The Centre will present a work-in-progress showing of Tanya Tagaq’s SplitTooth: Saputjiji on December 16 at the Jenny Belzberg Theatre. Directed by Kaneza Schaal, the performance draws on the themes of Tagaq’s book Split Tooth and includes a post-show Q&A. The Montréal collective People Watching brings Play Dead to the Jenny Belzberg Theatre on January 24, a production blending circus, dance, and physical theatre. Banff Centre will also host its first Indigenous Fashion Runway on December 5 at CLVB ’33, led by host Jah’kota and showcasing work by participants in the Centre’s fashion residency.

Additional programming includes Aysanabee on November 20 with an opening set by Cikwes; The Barra MacNeils’ An East Coast Christmas on November 21; and The Debaters Live On Tour: 20th Anniversary Holiday Special with host Steve Patterson on December 2. The Walter Phillips Gallery will present two events with artist Sharon Lockhart on December 3 and December 4 in connection with her exhibition, which runs through January 7, 2026.

New-music presentations continue into the new year. Third Coast Percussion appears January 16 at the Margaret Greenham Theatre with Time Pieces: The New Classical, marking the quartet’s 20th anniversary. Ensemble Paramirabo performs It Was Inside You All Along on January 23 at Rolston Recital Hall, presenting a program centered on contemporary and minimalist repertoire. The Centre will also continue its Literary Cabaret events, seasonal Open Studios connected to its residency programs, and concerts by participants in the Banff Musicians in Residence program, with Indigenous music presentations scheduled for February through the Toga da wôhnagabi residency.
