Stuck a new comedy by Jennie Franks, about one woman's courageous struggle to get out of a locked basement bathroom at a coffee house and reclaim control of her stalled life will have its World Premiere on Wednesday February 25 at The Kraine Theatre (85 East 4th Street - between Second Avenue & Bowery) at this year's 2nd Frigid Festival.

Performed by Jennie Franks and directed by Sasha Cucciniello, "Stuck focuses on a woman called Kiki whose claustrophobic journey begins with the malfunction of a lock and ends with the discovery of the secret to life's happiness. During the course of her confinement in the deserted basement she decides to rid herself of Prozac, Paxil, Zoloft, Zanac, Vicodin, her life coach, personal shopper, astrologer, manicurist, masseuse, nutritionist, herbalist and her ego," explain press notes.

When author/actress/entrepreneur Jennie Franks was nineteen years old and working at the London headquarters of Chrysalis Records she penned the lyrics to mega-group Jethro Tull's most successful song "Aqualung."  The song sold over 5 million copies worldwide before Jennie gave-up songwriting for several leading roles on London's West End and on tour with some of England's most respected theatre companies. A graduate of the London Academy of Drama and Music, she also starred on the BBC-TV as Julie in a highly praised "Miss Julie" as well as in several more specials and the very funny comedy series entitled Sorry which garnered her several more rave reviews and the opportunity to leave for America where she began to write and direct independent films and documentaries.

After winning the Platinum Award at the Houston World Festival and the Celebration of Community Award at the Telluride Mountain Film Festival for The Ballad of Author Muldoon starring Monty Python's Terry Jones which she wrote and directed, Jennie reviewed her transcontinental life and wondered what was next.
