The producers of the upcoming Broadway production of INHERIT THE WIND starring two time Tony® Award winners Christopher Plummer and Brian Dennehy have announced the complete 34-member company.

They are Byron Jennings, Denis O'Hare, Terry Beaver, Steve Brady, Anne Bowles, Bill Buell, Bill Christ, Carson Church, Conor Donovan, Lanny Flaherty, Kit Flanagan, Beth Fowler, Sherman Howard, Katie Klaus, Maggie Lacey, Jordan Lage, Mary Kate Law, Philip LeStrange, Kevin Loomis, David M. Lutken, Charlotte Maier, Matthew Nardozzi, Randall Newsome, Jay Patterson, Pippa Pearthree, Scott Sowers, Amanda Sprecher, Erik Steele, Jeff Steitzer, Henry Stram, Benjamin Walker, and Andrew Weems.

A new production of Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee's legendary 1955 drama, INHERIT THE WIND, will begin previews at The Lyceum Theatre (149 West 45th Street) on March 19 and open on April 12. Tony® Award winner Christopher Plummer and Tony® Award winner Brian Dennehy will star in the production, which will play a 16 week limited engagement. Tony® Award winner Doug Hughes directs.

Denis O'Hare will play E.K.Hornbeck. He won a Tony® Award for his performance in Take Me Out. He was last seen on Broadway in Sweet Charity. Other credits include Assassins (Tony® nomination), Major Barbara, Cabaret and Racing Demon.

Byron Jennings will play Rev. Jeremiah Brown. His Broadway credits include Heartbreak House, A Touch of the Poet, Twelve Angry Men, Sight Unseen, Dinner at Eight, Noises Off, The Invention of Love and The Man Who Came to Dinner.

Terry Beaver will play the Judge. His Broadway credits include The Caine Mutiny Court Martial, Democracy, Twentieth Century, Henry IV, The Man Who Came to Dinner and The Last Night of Ballyhoo.

Beth Fowler will play Mrs. Brady. Broadway credits include The Boy From Oz, Bells Are Ringing, Beauty and the Beast, Sweeney Tiodd, Teddy & Alice, Take Me Along, Baby, Peter Pan, 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and A Little Night Music.

INHERIT THE WIND will be produced on Broadway by Boyett Ostar Productions, The Shubert Organization, Lawrence Horowitz, Jon Avnet/Ralph Guild, Roy Furman, Debra Black/Daryl Roth, Bill Rollnick/Nancy Ellison Rollnick, and Stephanie McClelland.

Mr. Plummer is a two-time Tony® Award winner for Cyrano (1973) and Barrymore (1997) and most recently earned rave reviews for his performance on Broadway in King Lear (2004).

Mr. Dennehy has won Tony® Awards for his last two performances on Broadway in Death of a Salesman (1999) and Long Day's Journey Into Night (2003).

Mr. Hughes won a Tony® Award in 2005 for his direction of Doubt.

INHERIT THE WIND is a fictionalized retelling of the famous 1925 "Monkey Trial," in which science teacher John Scopes was tried and convicted for teaching Darwin's theory of evolution, violating a Tennessee law that forbade teaching any theory that conflicted with the biblical conception of divine creation. Mr. Dennehy will play the role of attorney Matthew Harrison Brady (based on William Jennings Bryan), and Mr. Plummer will play attorney Henry Drummond (based on Clarence Darrow).

INHERIT THE WIND, often considered one of the great plays of the twentieth century, first played on Broadway in 1955 at The National Theatre (now the Nederlander), with Paul Muni and Ed Begley earning Tony® Awards for their performances as Drummond and Brady, respectively. The popular 1960 movie version starred Spencer Tracy and FredEric March, and three television adaptations have also been filmed.

Oscar® nominated and Tony® Award-winning designer Santo Loquasto will design the sets and costumes for the production. Brian MacDevitt is the lighting designer. Original music and sound design is by David Van Tieghem.
