Mirvish Productions announced today they will host a free event on January 27 at the Toronto Reference Library, where guests will have the chance to meet the creators of Arrabal, a new musical set to make it's world premier in Toronto this February.

The event, which is free, will take place at 7:00 PM and will feature the Toronto Star theatre critic, Richard Ouzounian, interviewing the creative team.

Arrabal is an explosive story told entirely through dance and the music of multiple Academy Award® winner Gustavo Santaolalla (Brokeback Mountain, Babel) and his band Bajofondo.

Using a modern tango dance vocabulary never seen before, director Sergio Trujillo (Jersey Boys, Memphis) and choreographer Julio Zurita create a dramatic vision that is emotional, sexual and powerful. The show will feature a book written by Tony Award® nominee John Weidman (Contact).

Arrabal, based on a true story, is about a women who enters the underground world of Buenos Aires' tango clubs and discovers the violent history that took her father and disrupted a nation. The show will feature a live band and performers direct from Buenos Aires.

Tickets to this free event are available at EventBrite. The Toronto Reference Library is located at 789 Yonge St, near the intersection of Yonge and Bloor.
