The Dallas Theater Center Board of Trustees announced today the appointment of Jeffrey Woodward as managing director of the 56-year-old organization. Woodward's experience includes Syracuse Stage and 17 years at McCarter Theatre Center. The appointment follows the departure of Heather M. Kitchen, who announced her retirement in September 2014. Julian Zugazagoitia, Director of The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art and Eric Rosen, Artistic Director of Kansas City Repertory Theatre, today announced a unique collaboration to kick off the Kansas City Repertory Theatre 2015-16 season. Sunday in the Park with George, the Stephen Sondheim classic musical about the neo-Impressionist painter Georges Seurat, will be jointly produced in the Nelson-Atkins' Atkins Auditorium. Running until 27 September 2015, with press night on 22 July, American Idiot - The Musical features the music of Green Day with the lyrics of its lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong, and book by Billie Joe Armstrong and Michael Mayer.
