The Green Room 42 to Present NYC Debut of MEDEA, THE MUSICAL

THE GREEN ROOM 42 – the intimate concert venue dubbed Broadway's “off-night hotspot” by The New York Times – will present the New York debut of Medea, the Musical for a special four-show engagement from Friday, January 12 to Monday, January 15. Winner of six Bay Area Critics Circle Awards including “Best Musical,” the LA Weekly Award for “Best Musical,” and the GLAAD Media Award for “Best Theatre,” the show is a backstage musical about a gay man who falls in love with a woman even as the show they're acting in spirals out of control. Medea, the Musical is written and directed by John Fisher, produced by Jon Zimmerman, with general management by Tom D'Angora. Mason Griffin serves as music director with Maria Lagranje as assistant director.

The New York cast features Hunter Hope Barnett, Casey Borghesi, Dylan Charles Goike, Margaret Holscher, Mike Kinzer, James A. Pierce III, Stone Mountain, and Darius Quinston Mullens.

  

John Fisher's solo-show A History of World War II enjoyed an eight-month run at The Marsh, after playing two successful runs in Manhattan (United Solo Festival/Theatre Row – “Best Actor” Award) and another in Los Angeles (The Broadwater.) He has been honored with two Will Glickman Playwright Awards, the GLAAD Media Award, the Theatre Bay Area Award, the two Cable Car Awards, the The Bay Guardian Goldie Award, the BackStage West Garland Award, and seven Critics' Circle Awards. John's plays include the award-winning Action Hero, Shakespeare Goes to War, To Sleep and Dream, Combat!, Queer Theory, and Medea, the Musical. They have been performed in NYC, Los Angeles, Seattle, San Francisco, and across the country. This is an evening of humor and song for the more mature Muppet fans out there, so best to leave the kiddies at home.

This holly jolly evening of mayhem and foolishness will definitely put you in the holiday spirit! Broadway's blonde bombshell, Felicia Finley (The Wedding Singer, Mamma Mia!, The Life) is premiering her new show, “Backwoods to Broadway.” Growing up in the backwoods of North Carolina and Louisiana, Felicia shares her story on how she got to Broadway and how Patsy Cline inspired her every step of the way. In a show that is packed with songs made famous by Patsy and the songs from Felicia's illustrious career, this show will have you laughing, crying, singing and pondering the question, “How can you push a rope?” The evening will feature Michael McBride on piano.
