The Kinky FadesMistress Carol is the stereotypical dominatrix, and if it's been a while since you were last touched by the feathery tip of delight, let me remind you that the classic controller is the queen of black leather and thigh-high spike heeled boots. The snap of her whips is birdsong to your ears. Remember? So here's Nicky Fridh as Mistress Carol with Harry, better known as Nick Richberg, on his knees, licking her shiny insteps. (more...)

BWW Recap: Jay Shoots a Commercial & Haley and Andy Make Progress on MODERN FAMILYBWW Recap: Jay Shoots a Commercial & Haley and Andy Make Progress on MODERN FAMILY
by Matt Smith - Mar 5, 2015

So, as you probably already know, MODFAM covered a whole lotta ground this week, making progress in terms of plot and character, fleshing out this family we've come to know and love over the past six years. Here's what went down: Cam & Mitch's storyline follows the two of them attempting to alter Lily's choice of song for the upcoming talent show; as they explain in their confessional, they don't want her performing 'cause she's tone-deaf and can't sing. First off, glad to see Cam back at the piano! (These are the countries... these are the countries :p). Nice bit of continuity there. It's soon revealed that the whole scheme is not so much about Cam saving Lily from embarrassment as it is about him saving himself from embarrassment from his rival, Andrew. (more...)

Three years and millions of dollars in the making, Stanton Welch's take on ROMEO AND JULIET is magnificent. This is not empty praise for the Houston Ballet's artistic director. Plot complexities aside, ROMEO AND JULIET is a simple story: two teens are in love in a world where their love is impossible. And for all of the spectacle, Welch trusts this simple story. (more...)

by Jay Irwin - Feb 23, 2015

If you read my previous review, Dear Readers, of SMT's production of "Sweet Charity" you'll know that I already had the occasion this weekend of a show where the leading lady just didn't connect for me. Well, that seems to be a trend as the 5th Avenue Theatre's current production of "Carousel" also had a leading lady who was lacking. There's plenty of good things happening in the show but their Julie Jordan (Laura Griffith) came across as emotionless and stone faced making me wonder why or even if she was falling in love.
