The Irish Rep hopes everyone has remained safe and is doing well in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. As you may know, The Irish Rep is in the area that has been without power. The theatre has been told there is a possibility that power will be restored to Chelsea this evening, November 2. If it is restored by 5pm, only A Celebration of Harold Pinter will perform tonight. Scott McLucas Studio Theatre; and performances of The Freedom of the City are set to resume as of Saturday, November 3 at 3pm on its Francis J. The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey will launch its 51st Season with J.M. Synge's classic The Playboy of the Western World. Performances begin May 29th and continue through June 23rd at the F.M. Kirby Shakespeare Theatre, 36 Madison Ave. (at Lancaster Road) in Madison. Individual tickets and discount ticket packages are now on sale and can be purchased by calling the box office at 973-408-5600 or by visiting www.ShakespeareNJ.org. Following the huge successes of their collaboration on Tartuffe and The Hypochondriac, English Touring Theatre and Liverpool Playhouse complete a trilogy of Roger McGough adaptations of classic Molière comedies with The Misanthrope, which premieres on Tuesday 19th February before a national tour. The 'McGoughière' team will reunite McGough with Everyman and Playhouse Artistic Director Gemma Bodinetz, who will direct this co-production with ETT. (more...)

Irish Repertory Theatre celebrates its award-winning 25th Anniversary Season with SOMETHING WONDERFUL! THE SONGS OF RODGERS & HAMMERSTEIN, an evening celebrating classic Rodgers and Hammerstein hits performed by a galaxy of Broadway stars, for one night only, Monday, June 10 at Broadway's Broadhurst Theatre (235 West 44th Street). Shirley Jones, best known for her roles in 'Oklahoma!' and 'Carousel,' returns to Broadway in the gala evening, directed by Charlotte Moore and hosted by Tom Hanks. (more...)

Irish Repertory Theatre continues its 25th Anniversary Season with The Weir by Conor McPherson, author of SHINING CITY and THE SEAFARER - with previews set to begin May 15, prior to an official Off-Broadway opening May 23 on the Irish Repertory's Francis J.
