BroadwayWorld speaks to comedian Peter Brush about his 2016 Edinburgh Fringe show Dreams With Advert Breaks.

Tell us a bit about Dreams With Advert Breaks

It's an hour-long love letter to childhood imagination by a small awkward man. It's got lots of jokes in it about things like the zoo, Brazil nuts, dog breeding, terrorism and The Muppets.

What was the inspiration for the show?

I just began to notice that I have very boring dreams now, but I didn't used to, and so that's what the show is about - having nostalgia for old dreams (but not necessarily nostalgia for real life).

This is your second solo show at the Edinburgh Fringe - do you think you know what to expect?

I always expect the worst; that way you cannot be disappointed. I expect no Audience members, terrible reviews and to make no money at all. If I build on any of these targets it will be a bonus.

Who would you recommend comes to see Dreams With Advert Breaks?

Anyone who has been affected by getting older or by Western society and culture. Or people who find me sexually attractive.

Are there any other performances you're hoping to catch at the festival?

Yes, Phil Ellis, Seymour Mace, Chris Stokes, Jonny Pelham, and Fern Brady.

Timings and ticket information for Dreams With Advert Breaks can be found on the edfringe website.
