Last night, the Critics Choice Awards were held, celebrating the best in Television and Film. Ariana DeBose took home the award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the recent film adaptation of West Side Story.

The Prom a new musical with music by Matthew Sklar, lyrics by Chad Beguelin, and a book by Bob Martin and Chad Beguelin is based on an original concept by Jack Viertel. Directed and Choreographed by Casey Nicholaw, this explosive new musical took the stage by storm Tuesday night at the Straz Center, and with open arms, the audience welcomed this exceptional cast to the bay area. Boasting a primarily younger cast who danced and sang till everything was left on the stage, the audience was grooving in their seats and filled with joy all evening.

New releases include Girls5Eva season two, Joe VS Carole starring Tony-winning Hedwig star John Cameron Mitchell, and a new series based on the popular Pitch Perfect film franchise.  New content will star Sara Bareilles, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Emmy Possum, Taye Diggs, Josh Gad, Isla Fisher, Kim Cattrall, and more.

Allen Stone is on the road in support of his latest album APART, a collection of tracks that reimagine his best songs, stripping each arranged track back to the very essence of its creation. He performed an acoustic version of his song 'Bed I Made,' featuring him, his guitar and his two backing vocalists Stephany Mora and Brian Charles Johnson

Just before his Broadway run in Mr. Saturday Night kicks off, Billy Crystal will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 27th annual Critics Choice Awards. Other nominees include West Side Story, tick, tick...BOOM!, Peter Dinklage, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Encanto, Aaron Sorkin, Denzel Washington, and more.

Taye Diggs and Nicole Byer will host the ceremony at the Fairmont Century Plaza Hotel in California. West Side Story leads the nominations with 11. Also nominated are tick, tick...BOOM!, Andrew Garfield, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Peter Dinklage, Denzel Washington, Ariana DeBose, Rita Moreno, and Rachel Zegler. Royal Family Productions will present a workshop production of MAMA ROSE. This piece is written and stars Richard E. Waits (A Turtle on a Fence Post, RFP: Worth St.), with direction by Royal Family Creative Director Lorna Ventura and Royal Family Artistic Director Chris Henry.
