The Broadway production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, directed by Harold Prince, will soon welcome new cast members. Rachel Zatcoff will make her Broadway debut as the Christine alternate, beginning September 2. She will perform on Monday evenings and Saturday matinees. Additionally, Broadway veteran Craig Bennett will join the cast as Monsieur Firmin, beginning August 31. (more...)

The new touring production of THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, currently playing at the Segerstrom Center in Costa Mesa, is a must-see. The music, costumes, and sets are hauntingly beautiful and the performances are generally superb. Katie Travis, as Christine Daae, is a standout. (more...)

Less reinvented than it is repackaged, the crowning glory of this production is its lavish costumes and sets (by Paul Brown and Maria Bjornson respectively), and the lush sounds of its 17-member orchestra (under the direction of Richard Carsey). PHANTOM further cemented its place as the all-time box office leader at the Fabulous Fox with 241 performances over 7 engagements drawing 815,000 attendees and generating more than $40 million in box office receipts since the title's 1993 St. Louis premiere. Starlight Express is a rock musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber (music), Richard Stilgoe (lyrics) and Arlene Phillips (choreography), with later revisions by Don Black (lyrics) and David Yazbek (music and lyrics for the 2nd US tour).
