Netflix has announced the cast of Tyler Perry's Beauty in Black, an all-new series coming soon to Netflix. The series comes from a previously announced creative partnership with Netflix, where Perry will write, direct, and produce feature films and series under a multi-year first-look deal. 

Maestro, the Leonard Bernstein film starring Bradley Cooper, who also co-wrote and directed the feature, opened at the Venice Film Festival this weekend. Check out what the critics had to say!

Stephen Byrd & Alia Jones-Harvey’s Front Row Productions Fellowship, in association with Columbia University School of the Arts, named Lamar Richardson as the 2022 Front Row Productions Fellow.

Directed by the Stephen Spielberg with Pulitzer Prize winner Tony Kushner penning the film's screenplay, the film is an adaption of 1957 musical with a score by Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim and a book by Arthur Laurents. The Humans was adapted from the Tony winning play of the same name. It’s written/directed by Stephen Karam, who helmed the play as well. The cast includes Beanie Feldstein, Richard Jenkins, Amy Schumer, Steven Yeun, June Squibb and Jayne Houdyshell. It’s a tense, intimate and occasionally funny drama with a haunting undertone throughout.

The Richard Lawson Studios Self Tape Master Class Series is back with returning guest teacher, director/writer/actor Lily Mariye on July 31st, 2021. Classes take place every Saturday morning at 10 AM PST via Zoom Webinar.

The Richard Lawson Studios continues The Self Tape Master Class series with casting professional Katie O'Connor joining master teacher Richard Lawson on April 17th.

Richard Wesley’s 'Black Terror' is co-produced by WACO Theater Center, which is based out of Los Angeles’ North Hollywood neighborhood. The production will be directed by WACO’s Co-Artistic Director, Richard Lawson, and will live-stream online this summer.
