This weekend Theater Camp expanded to 10 markets/51 theaters, up from six locations in New York and LA opening weekend, taking in an estimated $266,000 for a per-screen average of $5.2k, according to Deadline.

Anaïs Mitchell, the Tony and Grammy-winning creator of Hadestown, performed with the touring cast at the show’s opening night curtain call. Hadestown had its Toronto premiere at the Royal Alexandra Theatre on July 7, 2023. Toronto performances run through August 20, 2023. Check out the video here!

Theater Camp had the highest grossing limited opening weekend for a Searchlight Pictures film since 2019 over the weekend. Theater Camp had the second-highest grossing weekend at AMC Lincoln Square and Alamo Brooklyn, following Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning. It stars Ben Platt, Molly Gordon, Noah Galvin, and more.

Four years after its Broadway premiere, Anaïs Mitchell’s Tony-winning musical HADESTOWN, developed with and directed by Rachel Chavkin, has finally made its way down to Toronto. I've been a fan of Hadestown since its concept album release in 2010. With music and lyrics by Anaïs Mitchell, the album featured vocals by Mitchell herself alongside the likes of Justin Vernon and Ani DiFranco. Called a 'folk opera' at the time, this album laid the foundation for what would become the 2019 Tony-winning Broadway musical Hadestown.

The Milwaukee premiere of Hadestown opens tonight, Tuesday, May 2 at 7:30pm at the Marcus Performing Arts Center for one week only through Sunday, May 7 as part of the 2022/23 Johnson Financial Group Broadway at the Marcus Center Season.

So, by virtue of all of these elements this show is compleat in the senses fostered by the archaic spelling of the word, what Webster's renders as 'having all the necessary or desired elements or skills.' The characters, the music, the dancing, the lyrics, and the overall message are all new and different, even if deployed in the service of 'an old tale from way back when,' and they come accompanied by a message of inspiration in the midst of tragedy. A must-see.

Performing Arts Fort Worth, the non-profit owner and operator of Bass Performance Hall, announced that tickets are on sale now for HADESTOWN, making its Bass Hall debut in a limited engagement June 27 – July 2 as the final show of the 2022-2023 Broadway at the Bass Season presented by PNC Bank.
