Hamilton returns for an encore at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts this season, and so does the arts center's community giveback initiative–on a much larger scale. Corporate sponsors, private donors, City of Orlando and Orange County officials joined forces to raise $236,000 to treat more than 1,200 students, teachers, families, social service groups, first responders and veterans to the multi-award-winning Broadway musical.

Tickets for two Broadway musicals coming to the arts center this January 2023 are now on sale. The third show of the AdventHealth Broadway in Orlando 22/23 season, Wicked––the untold true story of the Witches of Oz––will perform 24 times in Walt Disney Theater from January 25–February 12, 2023. Dr. Phillips Center will also present a Youth Theater Production of Disney's Frozen Jr. from January 13–15, 2023 in Alexis & Jim Pugh Theater.

The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts will treat its guests with five shows this Halloween season, including theater, ballet and opera performances.

On Friday, October 14, the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts will present Celebrating Hispanic Voices: An Evening of Spoken Word. This free, dynamic showcase in Alexis & Jim Pugh Theater will feature premier Hispanic spoken word poets from around the country that will give guests a taste of the rich culture of the Hispanic people.

Two decades ago, visionary and Founding Donor Jim Pugh set out to build one of the greatest performing arts centers in the world. Following the completion of the building in downtown Orlando, Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts announces Pugh's retirement as Chairman of the Board of Directors, closing out a 19-year tenure.

Rep. Val Demings (FL-10) today presented the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts with $250,000 in federal funds to support its Arts For Every Life education programs, which provides students with opportunities to access arts education across the region.

Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts continues to honor and appreciate the incredible contributions African Americans make in the performing arts.
