New Generation Theatrical has announced the 16 play selections that will perform in the inaugural Be Original Theater Festival at the Dr. Phillips Center. The festival will be held at the Dr. Phillips Center October 4 a?" 6, 2019, and will feature 32 total performances over three days, spread throughout the Alexis and Jim Pugh Theater and the Rehearsal Hall at the Dr. Phillips Center.
Billy Price Releases New Album 'Dog Eat Dog'

For the first time since opening, Dr. Phillips Center has curated four weeks of holiday fare, including a smashing Broadway musical, a holiday-themed country concert and a variety show starring comedian Jane Lynch. The line-up also includes several performances of Orlando Ballet's The Nutcracker - including two afternoon family shows - and the Orlando Philharmonic's Home For the Holidays.
Dr. Phillips Center Receives Award For Operational Excellence

The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts received the prestigious 2018 Venue Excellence Award from the International Association of Venue Managers at the organization's annual conference in Toronto yesterday. The arts center received top honors among 133 IAVM member performing arts centers on four continents. The award recognizes venues for operational excellence, safety and security, employee team building and development, and service to the community.

Opera Orlando returns to the intimate setting of the Alexis and Jim Pugh Theater at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts for part of their 2018-2019 season. Three productions comprise The Opera on the Main Stage series as the company presents its third season of fully staged operas. The company also will inaugurate its Opera on the Town series in 2018-2019, performances in various venues in Central Florida. Numerous special events also will be held.
BLACKBERRY WINTER Returns for UCF Celebrates the Arts

A staged reading of Steve Yockey's Blackberry Winter, presented by Orlando Shakespeare Theater (Orlando Shakes) in Partnership with UCF as a part of UCF Celebrates the Arts, will appear April 9, 2018 in the Alexis & Jim Pugh Theater. This production of Blackberry Winter originally appeared at Orlando Shakes in 2017, after the script was featured as a reading at the Theater's PlayFest 2014. To raise awareness of caregiving in its various forms for Alzheimer's, dementia, and other conditions, the reading will be followed by a post-show talkback with the playwright, caregivers, and performers. Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts and Live Nation announced today that death-defying magician, David Blaine, is taking his mind-blowing show 'David Blaine Live' on the road this spring and summer with a new round of 36 North American tour dates. Produced by Live Nation, the tour will kick off May 6, 2018 in San Diego, CA and make stops in U.S. cities including Orlando at the Walt Disney Theater on June 11, 2018.
