A statue to commemorate murdered playwright Joe Orton has been scrapped. The Joe Orton Statue Appeal reached its target in 2019, having raised over £115,000 for the project. 

The Overture Center will host the Bluey's Big Play stage show on Saturday, Aug. 12 and Sunday, Aug. 13, 2023. Tickets go on sale Friday, Aug. 26 at 11 a.m. at overture.org.  

Casting has been announced for the UK and Ireland tour of Bartlett Sher's critically acclaimed and multi award-winning production of Lerner & Loewe's much loved MY FAIR LADY, which comes to Birmingham Hippodrome from Wednesday 8 March – Sunday 26 March 2023.

Cameron Bailey, CEO of TIFF, has shared that Brendan Fraser will receive the TIFF Tribute Award for Performance for his outstanding performance in The Whale. The TIFF Tribute Awards presented by BVLGARI will return to an in-person gala fundraiser during the 47th edition of the Toronto International Film Festival.

Ian McKellen, Ambassador Theatre Group Productions, and Sean Mathias will award a second round of grants which will give up to £25,000 to theatre producers.

A summer refurbishment programme is underway at the New Theatre Cardiff that will see significant improvements to the Front of House areas and Bars, additional Toilets, and an enhanced customer service experience.

On the stage, Bailey has most recently starred in Marianne Elliott’s sold-out revival of Cock, which opened to rave reviews in March 2022. Bailey previously collaborated with Elliott for the award-winning Company, alongside Patti Lupone, for which he won an Olivier Award. He also starred alongside Ian Mckellen in King Lear in 2017.

Many great performers tackle Lear every year.
