The long-awaited performance of the International Stage It! 10-Minute Play Festival will finally be presented on October 9-11 at Centers for Performing Arts Bonita Springs. Originally scheduled for one-week after the state's pandemic lock down in March, plays from around the world will be performed for a live audience-social-distancing required.

The Centers for the Arts Bonita Springs will present Just For Laughs: A Comedy Variety Show on Friday, August 14 at 7:30pm. The show will showcase four comedians including Laugh In Comedy Club's own Jamie Morgan, Absar Saddiqui, Tim Millican and Charles Calabritto, along with musical guest Chuck Jobes on piano.

Having presented more than 40 playwrights in 2019, Center for Performing Arts kicks off the new year with a celebration of Southwest Florida Playwrights in the January 10 edition of their Staged Reading Series. The event will feature short plays, a solo play excerpt, and the 40-minute one-act play Inn Trouble by Sarasota's Pamela Schueler, a door-slammer and comedy of errors with a noir feel.

Comedy/variety show JUST FOR LAUGHS returns to The Center for Performing Arts Bonita Springs October 11, 7:30pm at the Moe Auditorium and Film Center. The show includes comedians, songs, sketches and a musical improvisation. Comedian Carmen Vallone, of Comedy Night School and Last Comic Standing-fame, will be joined by Sheena Reagan, Charles Calabritto and Kyle Brandle. Brandle recently wowed the Orlando Fringe Festival with his comedy play One Night at Louie's.

Composer William Wade Dies At 54; Memorial Concert Set For 6/3

William Wade, composer, lyricist, orchestrator, musical director, arranger and pianist, passed away following a short battle with colon cancer on February 26, 2018 at the age of 54. Wade is perhaps best known for writing the score for John Tartaglia's Imaginocean, which had an eighteen month run off-Broadway at New World Stages and an extensive international tour.
