Born and raised in Dubai to Mexican expats, Julian Lamadrid is a New York based artist who released his new single “Mess.” Along with the emotionally-charged song, Julian unveils the equally as moving music video, which he self-directed along with all of his previously released music videos. “Mess” is available everywhere now via Arista Records, and will be included on his forthcoming 12-track record Mala Noche out late this fall that Julian composed, wrote and produced in its entirety.

Lin-Manuel Miranda was a guest on this week's episode of Conan's podcast, 'Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend.' The two of them sat down to chat about the perks of youth theatre, rhyming as a superpower, the magic of Queen & David Bowie's 'Under Pressure,' and handling the immeasurable success of 'Hamilton.'

Jack Spann has had an incredible couple of years. The Saint Louis native has lived in New York City for the last 18 years and established himself as one of the city's in-demand keyboardists. His reputation led to an introduction to David Bowie's producer, Tony Visconti who hired him to play on the demos for what would be Bowie's final album, Blackstar.

The 2019 Victorian State Schools Spectacular (VSSS) will bring together 3000 young performers from more than 200 government schools across Victoria, for two shows on Saturday 14 September at Melbourne Arena.  Students dedicate many hours across many months preparing for the three-hour, live Spectacular. This opportunity of a lifetime gives them the chance to perform to an audience of around 12,000 people at Melbourne Arena and a TV audience later in the year on Network Seven.

Today, The Bird and The Bee proclaimed their love for another legendary act announcing the release of Interpreting the Masters Volume 2: A Tribute to Van Halen, a collection of covers of some of the most massive and wild songs from David Lee Roth-era Van Halen.  The beloved indie-pop duo of vocalist Inara George and multi-instrumentalist Greg Kurstin also released a delightful new-wavey fever dream rework of 'Ain't Talking 'Bout Love,' from Van Halen's 1987 self-titled debut. This is the second track available off the album, having recently released 'Panama', a song where Kurstin's lush piano work replaces the revved-up guitar riffs of the original. The album is out August 2nd on No Expectations / Release Me Records.  

Scottish rock mainstays We Were Promised Jetpacks have announced the 10th anniversary edition of their acclaimed debut album These Four Walls. Long a sought after collector's item, We Were Promised Jetpacks' debut LP, These Four Walls, had a scant US vinyl release that appeared only as imports in 2009. Now the album, full of explosive energy and knife-edge tension, packed with a bounty of fans' live favorites and unreleased tracks including demos, acoustic sessions (including a cover of 'Modern Leper' by fellow Scots and good friends Frightened Rabbit) and live tracks from a very early gig at Barfly in Glasgow will be released via FatCat. The bonus tracks will only be available on the limited editon gold vinyl release on FatCat (pre-order). The band also announced a North American summer tour in support of their upcoming release. All shows are listed below.

Not very many people have played guitar in outer space. Bandella, a folk group performing July 6 at The Palms Playhouse has not one, but two such guitarists. They return to The Palms for their first California performance since selling out the venue in 2017.

Troubadour Theatres and Stanhope, Mitsui Fudosan and AIMCo today announce the inaugural summer season at Troubadour White City Theatre at White City Place, the former BBC Media Village in west London. Exitmusic co-founder Devon Church recently released his debut solo album, We Are Inextricable. The album which follows up follows up Exitmusic's critically acclaimed album The Recognitions, can be ordered now at Bandcamp and is available on streaming services. This Friday Devon Church will kick off a tour with labelmates Chasms in Chicago in support of the release and today he shared the official video for 'We Are Inextricable' with Self-Titled Magazine.

Karen O & Danger Mouse's  "An Encounter with Lux Prima - The Art of Collaboration," a short documentary chronicling the 18-month development of their multisensory art installation "An Encounter With Lux Prima" debuts today via Variety. Watch the piece-directed by Luisa Conlon and Max Knight, produced in partnership with Dropbox and featuring interviews with many of the installation's collaborators-here.

“I'm hearing you say, 'not enough is OK.' Well, it's not...I'm with the Painted People,” quips lead vocalist, Christian Dryden of NYC-based, THE RITUALISTS about standing with the free thinkers of the world. Frontman and songwriter Dryden is something of an anachronism - a multi-instrumentalist who relishes the performance aspects of a live show while also penning lyrics that call upon 19th Century Romance poetry and musical arrangements that exude cinematic, art-rock sensibilities.
