Boston Theater Company has announced the first annual QUEER VOICES FESTIVAL, with performances from March 8-10, 2024 at the Plaza Theatre of the Boston Center for the Arts. 

The high wire act that is Tony Meneses’ play LA COCINCA is a feat that companies of greater capabilities than Loft Ensemble might not pull off. There are 19 performers barreling across that stage, dispatching orders, picking up plates, whisking, saucing, grilling and doing all the other things that we hungry oblivious patrons don’t see.

Eden Theater Company will present the World Premiere of Complicity written by Diane Davis and directed by Illana Stein at The New Ohio Theatre, September 30 - October 15. 

From July 29 to August 28, Essential Theatre presents its 23rd Festival with the world premieres of two plays and four staged readings, all by Georgia playwrights. The two full productions, The Outrage Machine and A Complicated Hope, opened the first two weeks of the festival, and next in the lineup is the Bare Essentials Play Reading series, produced with support from Georgia Humanities.

Eden Theater Company will present the World Premiere of Complicity by playwright Diane Davis at the New Ohio Theatre (154 Christopher Street Ste 1E New York, NY) this fall. The show is slated to open in September 2022 and run through October 2022. The director and cast will be announced later this summer.

In Owolabi's production of THE BLUEST EYE at Synchronicity Theatre, Nobel Prize-winning author Toni Morrison, Award-winning American Playwright Lydia R. Diamond, and Pecola Breedlove, the novel’s protagonist, seem to share a mutual legacy—this significance adds magnetism of this production, to say the least.

Diamond and directed by Ibi Owolabi, this is the powerful story of Pecola Breedlove, a dark-skinned African-American girl who firmly believes she can overcome all obstacles in her life with blue eyes.
