Actors Orlando Bloom, Robert Sean Leonard, Joe Morton, and Condola Rashad will perform at Walt Disney Concert Hall in the LA Phil's Shakespeare-themed TchaikovskyFest concert led by Music Director Gustavo Dudamel with the Simon Bolivar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela, Wednesday, February 26 at 8 p.m. The program (presented without intermission) features Tchaikovsky's three Fantasy-Overtures inspired by Shakespeare plays - Hamlet, The Tempest and Romeo and Juliet. Preceding each of the fantasy-overtures, the cast of actors will perform key scenes from each play, with Orlando Bloom as Romeo, Joe Morton as Prospero, and Condola Rashad as Juliet. Kate Burton, the prolific Tony-nominated stage and screen actress and daughter of the late Richard Burton, directs this all-star cast. (more...)

Manhattan Theatre Club presented its annual Winter Benefit, an evening of cocktails and dinner followed by a special one-night-only cabaret-style show featuring Broadway's brightest stars last night, February 3, 2014 at The Allen Room at Jazz at Lincoln Center's Fredrick P. Rose Hall (Broadway & 60th Street). This year's Winter Benefit was directed by Marc Bruni (Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, The Explorers Club) and featured performances by Tony Award nominee Daniel Breaker (Shrek, Passing Strange), two-time Tony Award Winner Norbert Leo Butz (Big Fish, Catch Me If You Can ), two-time Tony Award nominee Laura Osnes (Rogers & Hammerstein's Cinderella, Bonnie & Clyde), and two-time Tony Award nominee Condola Rashad (Romeo & Juliet, The Trip To Bountiful). Breaking News: Broadway's CINDERELLA Announces Casting Update: Joe Carroll to Succeed Santino Fontana, Victoria Clark Will Return

The producers of the hit musical CINDERELLA on Broadway announce new cast members who will join the company in the coming weeks: starting January 28, Joe Carroll begins performances as Prince Topher, taking over the role from original cast member and Tony Award nominee Santino Fontana, who concludes his year-long run in the musical. Also beginningJanuary 28, Todd Buonopane will replace original cast member Greg Hildreth as the rebel Jean-Michel; and CINDERELLA ensemble member Stephanie Gibson will replace Marla Mindelle as stepsister Gabrielle. On January 21, Tony Award winner Victoria Clark will return as Cinderella's Fairy Godmother Marie, which she originated and for which she received a Tony Award nomination. Tony nominee Rebecca Luker has performed the role of Marie since September. (more...)
