    The School of Theatre at Florida State University presents Ragtime, written by Terrence McNally with music by Stephen Flaherty and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, and based on the novel "Ragtime" by E.L. Doctorow. Ragtime will be directed by Fred Chappell, head of the MFA Directing program at Florida State University. The show features a musical selection as diverse as New York City, from the ragtime rhythms of Harlem to the bold brass band and up-tempo banjo tunes characterizing America at the turn of the century.     According to the New York Times, a revival of KISS OF THE SPIDER WOMAN could be heading to Broadway! A reading for the show was held just last week starring Audra McDonald, Alan Cumming, and Steven Pasquale in the roles of Aurora, Molina, and Valentin respectively. Tony winner John Tiffany (Once, The Glass Menagerie) directed the reading. Producer Tom Kirdahy, who put the reading together, told NYT: "I think everyone is interested in having further conversations, but there is no game plan for a production at this point." (more...)

    54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, presents Broadway favorites Ann Morrison ("Merrily We Roll Along"), Pamela Myers ("Company") & Chip Zien ("Into The Woods") in "SONDHEIM ORIGINALS - OLD FRIENDS" on January 16 & 17, 2015. These three original Sondheim cast members share songs and stories, recalling their experiences creating their roles in these landmark musicals on Broadway.
