The Broadway World Awards for Cabaret have added some categories this year. This is one that we felt was really important... and just look at all the swell nominations!

Piano Bar Live! (PBL!) A Night at Rose's Turn, Part 2, streams tonight Tuesday, November at 7:15 pm ET, with hosts Scott Barbarino and Leslie Anderson. PBL! will continue the long-established tradition of the piano bar-that special place where we can gather, entertain, support and create, as we connect with live music.

Darlings, last night we watched Joe's Pub BURN to the ground! Set on FIRE by the incendiary Jackie Hoffman's fire breathing mouth. This perennial of such New York musical comedy classics as Hairspray, On The Town, her star turn in Once Upon A Mattress, and the current Off-Broadway hit-of-the-season A Kleyn Eydish (oh the heck with it) Fiddler On The Roof - In Yiddish no less, held forth with stand-up and lay-them-in-the-isles comedy songs for 70(ish) minutes that have us still laughing and wanting more; even though we are SORE from all the laughter.

Last night at the historic Cherry Grove Community House Theater in Fire Island,  Doris Dear brought the Rumpus Room to a packed house with her show “More Gurl Talk”. Tales of growing up with “her” parents Taffy and Duke and Nancy, “her” sister,  in Staten Island, proved to be a hilarious and touching evening in Fire Island.

Music Theater of Connecticut's Hot Summer Nights series presents Doris Dear's More Gurl Talk on Saturday, July 13th at 8 PM. This housewife's cabaret of songs and stories is directed by Lina Koutrakos, with music director Bobby Peaco.

The Manhattan Association of Cabarets (MAC) has announced the 2019 MAC Award nominees. The nominees, in a majority of the categories, were determined by votes cast by the active MAC membership. Special committees selected the nominees in the Ensemble Instrumentalist, Piano Bar Instrumentalist, Piano Bar Singing Entertainer (Female; Male), Recording (LaMott Friedman), Major Recording, Song and Comedy/Novelty Song categories.

Voting for the BroadwayWorld Cabaret Awards is open! The BWW Cabaret Awards honor exemplary performers and productions in New York from November 1, 2017 to October 31, 2018. Nominees in all categories excluding Special Event - Solo and Special Event - Multiple needed to have performed all or the majority of their shows (at least two of three shows) during this eligibility period.
