Olney Theatre Center will launch the world premiere of A.D. 16 (February 4 - March 6, 2022), a new musical from writers Cinco Paul (co-creator of Despicable Me and Schmigadoon!) and Bekah Brunstetter (producer and writer on This Is Us).

Chicago Shakespeare Theater announced today that the steep rise in COVID‑19 cases both in Chicago and nationwide as well as multiple related disruptions have necessitated the postponedment of the world premiere of The Notebook.

All For One Theater has selected 5 playwrights who will create and develop five brand new solo plays as part of All For One's 2022 Solo Collective development series: Nia Calloway (HOMEBODY: A Ritual Party), Rachel Lin (Dear John), Matthew Paul Olmos (the un'admiring), Reynaldo Piniella (Black and Blue), and Jason Odell Williams (Destroying David).

Pandora Productions, Louisville's only theatre company dedicated and most trusted to tell the stories of the LGBTQ+ community, proudly continues their 2021-2022 Season with a THE CAKE by acclaimed and awarded playwright and screenwriter Bekah Brunstetter (This Is Us). 

In March 2020, as Iowa Stage was getting ready to open their production of 'The Cake,' they had to start delaying their production due to the first cases of Covid 19 in Iowa. When it became clear that it wasn't going to be staged anytime soon, they took the initiative to present an outdoor staged reading. While I couldn't attend that reading, I heard from many people how great it was. So I was thrilled when they announced that their return to the Stoner Theatre at Des Moines Performing arts was going to be 'The Cake' by Bekah Brunstetter. The production opened up on November 12 and was a fantastic reminder of what Iowa Stage does best, presenting a show that asks the audience to reflect on what they had just seen.

Theatre Arlington's 49th season will offer great musicals, family-friendly children's programming, prize-winning dramas, hysterical comedies and the return of a favorite holiday show – all on the brand-new, state-of-the-art Arlington Tomorrow Foundation Theatre stage. Debuting in the newly renovated lobby, Theatre Arlington's Club Series will feature the return of Club Cabaret along with the new Comedy Club and Play Reading Club.

Iowa Stage Theatre Company (ISTC), central Iowa’s home for award-winning theater that inspires, enlightens and entertains, returns to live performances at the Stoner Theater of Des Moines Performing Arts. 

This month, The Studio Theatre Tierra del Sol opens the second production of its sixth season, The Cake by Bekah Brunstetter. The production will be staged at The Studio Theatre Tierra del Sol (806 San Marino Drive, The Villages, FL).

The play is directed by RTW's Co-Founder and Artistic Director Suzan Fete and stars Tara Mallen, April Paul, Courtney Tucker, Sam White and Michael Pink

Renaissance Theaterworks (RTW) presents THE CAKE by Bekah Brunstetter, October 22 - November 14, at their new artistic home, 255 S. Water St. The play is directed by RTW's Co-Founder and Artistic Director Suzan Fete and stars Tara Mallen, April Paul, Courtney Tucker, Sam White and Michael Pink

Directed by  Nicholas Viselli , with musical direction by  Dionne McClaine-Freeney, BRECHT ON BRECHT  will begin performance on October 19 and will celebrate its opening night on Thursday, October 28, 2021, running through November 20, 2021, at  A.R.T./ NY Theatre  ( 502 West 53rd Street, NYC).  

Theater Breaking Through Barriers, the only professional Off-Broadway theater company dedicated to advancing artists and developing audiences of people with disabilities, will return to Off-Broadway with the timeless revue – Brecht on Brecht.

F*It Club, the New York Innovative Award-winning film and theatre company, will complete ten years of its annual series of short, commissioned world-premiere plays at the IRT Theater as part of their 3B Development Series in Manhattan's West Village with The Spring Fling: Happily Ever After.

Chicago Shakespeare will present the debut of Broadway-bound new musical, The Notebook (March 15-April 24, 2022). The World Premiere production features music and lyrics by singer-songwriter Ingrid Michaelson with book by playwright Bekah Brunstetter.

Chicago Shakespeare Theater announces the return of in-person performances at the Theater’s home on Navy Pier with the much-awaited debut of As You Like It infused with the hit songs of The Beatles, beginning October 6, 2021. 

In addition to its six-play membership season, the Montgomery County institution returns with an equally busy schedule of concerts, special productions, presentations, and even more curated programming to build off of the success of its summer series: Olney Outdoors.
