The Hidden Cabaret, the new cabaret series at the Secret Room at 707 8th Avenue, will unveil its latest production on February 10th at 7PM.

The Paley Center for Media will present A Salute to Black Achievements in Television Presented by Citi from February 1-March 1. This monthlong celebration will include an interactive exhibit focusing on comedy, spotlight BET Network's 40th anniversary, as well as family activities, education classes, and screenings featuring some of the most influential names in entertainment. Entry to the exhibit and screenings are free and open to the public.

Barber Shop Chronicles is a unifying, enriching, thought-provoking and captivating theatrical experience that solidifies Ellams' position as a griot worthy of upholding the rich African ancestry of storytelling traditions, and an exciting new poet and playwright making his mark on the world's stage by sharing slices of life that dive deeply into the culture and concerns of the contemporary black man.

A holiday tradition returns as the McCallum Theatre welcomes the Dave Koz and Friends Christmas Tour 2019 at 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 18. The show is made possible through the generosity of Wayne and Rachelle Prim. Since the beginning of his career, Koz has been all about dodging expectations and traditions. His brand-new holiday album, Gifts of the Season, is his seventh holiday release, and features the very same guests with him on this year's Christmas tour.

Carlos Mencia will perform at Comedy Works South at the Landmark, November 14 - 16. Carlos Mencia began his career doing stand-up on an amateur night.  After he found success on the LA comedy circuit, Mencia was named a?oeInternational Comedy Grand Championa?? from Buscando Estrellas (the Latino version of Star Search).  This led to appearances on In Living Color, The Arsenio Hall Show, Moesha, and An Evening at the Improv. 

Fifteen year old Ajibola Tajudeen, better known as Keeme, is the host of New Paradigm Theatre's web series here on BroadwayWorld. 'Konversations with Keeme' is show where Keeme interviews seasoned television and film professionals like Tamara Tunie of Law and Order: Special Victims Unit and Renee Lawless of Tyler Perry's The Have and the Have Nots, as well as Broadway veterans such as Emmy and Grammy winner, Paul Bogaev, and Broadway pros Christine Dwyer, Kelly Grant, Juwan Crawley and more.

Arsenio Hall announced his new Netflix comedy special, Smart & Classy, this morning from his social channels. The special is set to launch globally on Netflix on October 29, 2019.

Deadline reports that Nomzamo Mbatha and Garcelle Beauvais have joined the star-studded cast of Coming 2 America! Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall  will reprise their roles from the 1988 classic comedy film. 

Deadline reports that Rotimi has joined the sequel to Eddie Murphy's 'Coming to America,' named appropriately numerically: 'Coming 2 America.' He joins original cast members Eddie Murphy (Prince Akeem) and Arsenio Hall (Semmi), James Earl Jones (King Jaffe Joffer), Paul Bates (Oha), John Amos (Cleo McDowell), Shari Headley (Lisa McDowell), Louie Anderson (Maurice), and Vanessa Bell Calloway (Imani Izzi).

Deadline reports that Tracy Morgan will join Coming to America 2. Eddie Murphy, Arsenio Hall, Wesley Snipes, Leslie Jones, Rick Ross and Kiki Layne make up the rest of the cast, many reprising their roles from the original film. James Earl Jones and Paul Bates also return.

I had the opportunity to interview a stunning vocalist I have seen on various Los Angeles stages, Ashley Argota, who will be imbuing her powerful vocals to the role of Shelby Thorpe, a pivotal part of the Gilead community.
