Lana Gordon will play the role of Persephone in Hadestown, the winner of eight Tony Awards including Best Musical, starting Tuesday, February 22 at Broadway's Walter Kerr Theatre. Gordon previously starred on Broadway as Velma Kelly in Chicago and was an original cast member in The Lion King and is currently the Persephone alternate for Amber Gray, who originated the role, and as previously announced will play her final performance in Hadestown on Saturday evening, February 19.

The Tony Award-winning Best Musical, Hadestown, was among the Broadway shows sidelined this evening. A representative for the production has confirmed that tomorrow's matinee has also been canceled. The status of the Saturday evening show is to be determined.
